Arborvitae - Green Giant
Highest Rated Fast Growing Evergreen The Green Giant (Thuja Plicata x Standishii) has become one of the most desired conifers for a multitude of reasons. With a growth rate of 3-5 feet a year this one of the fastest growing variety of Arborvitae.  Cloaked in thick, soft, dark green foliage from top to bottom the Green Giant is a better choice than hemlock in the North and cypress in the South. Arborvitae is Latin for “tree of life”, which attests to the hardy nature of this evergreen tree.  It often grows from a single leader, so you won’t have to worry about it surviving ice storms or heavy snow.  Birds love it, but most insects don’t, and deer won’t even touch it.  It grows well in most soils, and even during dry periods it’s incredibly fast-growing.   As its common name implies, this is a “giant” Arborvitae, growing up to 60 feet high with a 20 foot spread.  The sprays of foliage begin at the base of the Arborvitae and extend slightly upward along the entire tree.  The vibrant green coloring stays true all year, not even fading during the cold winter months. The aroma is like none other … imagine something between cedar, fresh lemons and air-dried cotton sheets.     Although stunning in rows, the Green Giant can also be planted alone as a sentinel in your yard or plant them in groups to form a living frame highlighting a special part of your landscape.  They’re also a beautiful living wall shielding you from unwanted views, noise and wind. Arborvitaes are often considered a particularly ecological plant because they give back to the environment.  Parts of the Arborvitae have historically been used for medicinal purposes.  It has proven to be a beneficial plant for generations, and will certainly be beneficial to you in fulfilling your landscape needs. * Fast-growing* Large Arborvitae variety* Hardy

America.  Its wood is very dense and strong so used extensively for various things including furniture and even some weapons.  In fact, the USS Constitution is made of white oak.   For a long-lived, strong and durable tree, the White Oak is the perfect choice. * Long-lived* Autumn color

Nuttall Oak - DetailsNuttall Oak - Sale Price: $85.65
The Nuttall Oak tree, Quercus nuttallii, was not distinguished as a species until 1927. It is also called red oak, Red River oak, and pin oak. It is one of the few commercially important species found on poorly drained clay flats and low bottoms of the Gulf Coastal Plain and north in the Mississippi and Red River Valleys. The acorn or winter buds identify Nuttall oak, easily confused with pin oak (Q. palustris). The lumber is often cut and sold as red oak. In addition to producing timber, Nuttall oak is an important species for wildlife management because of heavy annual mast production. Nuttall Oak trees are a good choice for low poorly drained locations. During winter, squirrels find a ready supply of acorns, since many acorns remain on the tree into January. Acorns are favored by deer and also eaten by turkeys.

Hackberry - DetailsHackberry - Sale Price: $64.25
Fast Growing Tree with Edible Fruit The Hackberry is a fast growing, deciduous tree that produces edible fruit. Plant one in your yard for its shade and seasonal interest, especially if you have a place where the soil is too poor for other trees. Your Hackberry can grow up to 60 feet with a 40-50 foot spread, so it’s quite an expansive shade tree for your yard. It has a cylindrical shape with 5-inch alternate, green leaves with undersides of a slightly yellow hue. Those leaves will turn completely yellow in autumn for a showy accent in your yard. Your Hackberry’s foliage arrives at the same time as the ¼-inch spring flowers, giving your tree a vivacious, lime-green appearance that will certainly draw your eye. Those flowers will eventually give way to 1/3-inch, deep-purple drupes that can persist on your tree into the winter months. The drupes have a somewhat date-like flavor and were traditionally used by Native Americans as a food source. Wildlife will also treasure the tiny fruits for the added nutrition they can provide, in addition to the shelter and nesting opportunities the tree presents. The Hackberry’s trunk has a corky appearance, offering some added decorative definition to the barren winter landscape. That wood can also be used for furniture or other projects (it’s soft but heavy). Hackberry trees are tolerant of most conditions, including wind and urban conditions. It’s a great way to have an impressive shade tree with ornamental appeal in less time than other large trees would require. The edible fruit sweetens the deal as a fun and useful addition to an already outstanding tree. * Fast-growing shade* Spring and fall color* Edible fruit* Wildlife interest
