Read and use according to label directions. The active ingredient, Deltamethrin, kills termites, carpenter ants, fire ants, wood infesting beetles. 8-month residual control. Convenient squeeze duster with snorkel tube gets dust into cracks, crevices and wall voids where insects hide. The most likely species to be infesting a house in the United States is the Black carpenter ant, Camponotus pennsylvanicus. Despite its name, the Black carpenter ant may have yellow markings on it. Be wary of this variety as the sting is very painful. The eastern subterranean termite is the most common North American termite.
