Bring superb fall color to your yard. The Burning Bush – Compacta (Euonymus alatus ‘Compactus’) is not a petite, modest shrub as its name implies. It can grow to be a striking 10 feet tall! Easily pruned to stay smaller it is one of the best shrubs on earth if you are looking for stunning fall color. A popular and versatile shrub the Burning Bush would be wonderful as a hedge or screen but can hold its own as an ornamental or foundation plant. Spring to summer your Burning Bush will have rich, green leaves up to 3 inches long. In the spring small, yellow green flowers appear adding interest to this extremely popular shrub. The Burning Bush really lives up to its name in the fall though. With spectacular fall color in reds that are so intense they nearly glow, it is no wonder this shrub is in such high demand. The bright red color will be a beacon in the otherwise drab landscape of the fall season. Adding to its impressive fall display, the Burning Bush will also show off its plentiful and ornamental brilliant red fruit. The Burning Bush is easy to grow in average to well-drained soil.
