Mountain Bluet - Bachelors Button - Sale Price: $35.65 The Centaurea ‘Bachelor's Button’, Centaurea montana, also known as Cornflower and Blue Bottle, has small thistle-like single flowers at the end of a delicate stem.  These radiant flowers are bright blue and very showy, with gray-green foliage. With a height of 24” and a plant width of 12-24”, it is an excellent late summer to early fall bloomer.  If cut back after blooming, it will continue to produce new blooms throughout the season. It typically grows in a fountain-like clump to 2' tall and features leathery, lance-shaped, evergreen (green at Christmas time as the common name suggests) fronds. The stocking shape of the pinnae also suggests Christmas! Crosiers (young fiddleheads) in spring are silvery and scaled.  Sori appear on the undersides of the pinnae only at the ends (last 1/3) of the fronds.   Christmas ferns are asymmetrical with a fine texture and have a moderately dense crown. The evergreen fronds provide good winter interest for the landscape. From midsummer until frost, the large, long lasting blooms will create a striking display.  ‘Party Favor’ has large rose-pink buds that open to glossy, medium pink flowers that have overlapping petals with red eye centers.  This hibiscus is a super long-blooming plant that produces large dinner plate-sized 8-10 inch wide pink blossoms!
