Coreopsis - Zagreb
Coreopsis - Zagreb The Coreopsis ‘Zagreb’, Coreopsis verticillata, is a prolific bloomer of bright yellow flowers that bloom from June through October. Winner of the 2001 RHS Award of Garden Merit, Coreopsis ‘Zagreb’ is a little shorter than the rest of the Coreopsis family. With a plant height of 15†and a spread of 12-18â€Â, its delicate dark green foliage has an airy and delicate appearance. ‘Zagreb’ should be planted in full sun. It is drought-tolerant and tough but does need well-drained soil. It should be cut backing early and late summer to extend the bloom period. Coreopsis Zagreb looks great with any type of grass, in borders or mass plantings in sunny gardens. It is very effective in naturalized areas, rock and cottage gardens or wild gardens. No garden should be without it.

Peony - Festiva Maxima - Sale Price: $42.75 The Peony Festiva Maxima, Paeonia lactiflora 'Festiva Maxima' is considered to be one of the best double flowering peonies with white blossoms and a hint of pink peaking through the center of each bloom! The flowers are very fragrant, and after blooming has finished, you are left with a beautiful mound of glossy green foliage that stays attractive all season. Peonies are one of the best cut flowers and are often used in the Midwest to decorate gravesites on Memorial Day. It is not uncommon to see peonies planted along the driveway or lane in a mass. All of our peonies are widely adaptable to most soils across the country. 'Festiva Maxima' blooms in mid to late spring and has very large, colorful blooms that stand out in the spring garden. This peony can handle dry to moist sites, and does best in full sun but can handle some light shade; prefers rich well drained soil. Water the new plant frequently to help it get off to a strong start. More often than not, this peony will not flower the first year because it will spend the first season establishing itself! Often thought of as a plant used on the farm or out in the country, peonies bring a little bit of that country feeling to your garden! * Double blooms * Glossy foliage * Fragrant flowers |
Black-eyed Susan - Herbstonne - Sale Price: $64.25 The Black-eyed Susan 'Herbstonne', Rudbeckia 'Herbstonne', is a summer blooming perennial with a unique green cone that is surrounded by yellow petals; this giant is the tallest of the Rudbeckia and will grow to 6 feet tall with a 3 foot spread. It does not need staking, however, you may want to stake it to make sure the flowers do not break at their peak performance. This plant can be a real eye catcher. Plant in the back of the border with buddleias, Joe Pye Weed, and ornamental grasses. The 2 to 3 wide, showy, golden yellow daisy-like blooms show off from summer until frost; spreads rapidly to cover a large area. It prefers full sun to partial sun in well-drained soil. This hardy perennial is excellent in borders or naturalized gardens. Rudbeckia attracts butterflies, provides food for birds in the winter and is mildew-resistant. Plant in masses with ornamental grasses for a lovely landscape effect! * Deer resistant * Easy to grow
Daylily - Scentual Sundance - Sale Price: $49.95 The Daylily 'Scentual Sundance', Hemerocallis 'Scentual Sundance', produces clusters of 4 inch golden yellow flowers with a green throat that cover this ever-blooming daylily from June until frost. This daylily has an added bonus beyond its brilliant color and lush foliage, it is wonderfully fragrant! The foliage is broader, with more substance, strength and deeper green color than 'Stella'. Remove old foliage in late fall. 'Scentual Sundance' is a rugged plant and adapts to a wide range of soil and light conditions. It establishes quickly, grows vigorously, and survives winters with little or no injury. Deadheading spent buds and removing old scapes will improve overall look, but not improve plant performance. Individual flowers last only one day, but since each plant produces many buds, the total blooming time of a well-established clump may last more than a month. Use this daylily for color in shrub borders and in perennial beds; attracts butterflies. Once established, the daylily can be an excellent groundcover on slopes because it has roots that hold soil against erosion. Divide every 3-5 years, or when the number of flower buds and the size of bloom begin to decline. 'Scentual Sundance' is an outstanding beauty that has it all! Beautiful flowers, lush foliage, and it is wonderfully fragrant! * Fragrant * Long blooming * Durable
Astilbe - Fanal - Sale Price: $49.95 The Astilbe ‘Fanal’, Astilbe arendsii, is a colorful feathery flower with deep red blooms and lacy deep green or bronze-green foliage. The foliage in spring is mahogany, but as autumn approaches, the blooms turn to shades of brown that look wonderful in winter snowscapes. The flowers contrast wonderfully with the dark green glossy foliage. Astilbe ‘Fanal’ blooms in midsummer and is 24” tall and a plant width of 18-24”. Do not allow Astilbe ‘Fanal’ to dry out. 'Fanal' is most successfully grown in a shady area but can tolerate some morning sun. A moist, well-drained area is a key factor for growing a healthy plant. In order to keep Astilbe looking good for the next year, do not cut it back in the winter, (the old foliage helps protect the plant from winter damage), but prune in early spring. Astilbe is considered to be deer resistant and will attract hummingbirds. Use ‘Fanal’ Astilbe as beautiful cut flowers for a grand bouquet! Plant it in perennial borders or shade gardens with hosta’s and ferns. You will be pleased with the results! * Lacy foliage * Easy to grow * Fall and winter color
Tiarella - Neon Lights Foam Flower - Sale Price: $56.95 The Tiarella Neon Lights, 'Tiarella hybrid', PPAF, also known as Foamflower, is becoming one of the most popular shade perennials on the market today. ‘Neon Lights’ has deeply cut fuzzy green foliage. The highlights of black and purple patterns make it what it is. Best of all, the coloration is more intense during the winter months, not to mention being lightly fragrant. White flowers appear in the summer; however, Tiarella’s are not especially noted for their flowers. ‘Neon Lights’ has a plant height of 6-8” and a plant spread of 12-15”. Tiarella will do best in full shade and need average to moist soil. To create a more neat appearing plant, remove the old foliage before new leaves emerge. The plant clumps can be divided every 2 or 3 years in the spring. Try planting this popular perennial with Lamium ‘White Nancy’, Hosta ‘Patriot’ or ‘Japanese Painted Fern’ for color contrast. Neon Lights can be planted as a ground cover or mingled with other shade loving plants. It is also used in borders, as a cut flower, and massed. * Deer and rabbit resistant * Evergreen in warmer climates * Great in container plantings
