Heavenly Bamboo - Firehouse - Sale Price: $71.35 The Nandina 'Firehouse', Nandina domestica nana 'Firehouse', is often chosen for its excellent red fall color; this dwarf variety has leaves that hold the red fire engine color all winter long too. The compact mounding form has bright green spring foliage and grows to about 2 feet high. The 'Firehouse' is a medium-sized tender evergreen shrub prized by gardeners worldwide for its colorful lacy leaves and attractive flowers and fruit. The airy compound leaves are purple-red when young and again in fall and winter, often with bright red and orange highlights. The foliage and stiff upright stems suggest those of bamboo, particularly when pruned in the Asian fashion with the lower leaves thinned to expose the stems. Large frothy clusters of tiny white flowers appear at the branch tips in late spring and summer; red fruit follow. It prefers full sun in most warm temperate and subtropical climates but needs afternoon shade in desert regions. This very drought resistant plant grows best in fertile, evenly moist soil. Japanese Tree Lilac - Sale Price: $96.35 The Japanese Tree Lilac (2002 Iowa Tree of the Year), with its attractive multi-stemmed clump form and ravishingly fragrant, creamy-white panicles, now graces many residential yards as well as parking lots, medians and commercial properties. Landscapers love this plant for its interesting spreading branches and vase-shaped crown, its long June-through-July blooming season and its very easy care. Ruddy, cherry-like bark and neat, dark green leaves contrast nicely with the creaminess of the flowers. The Japanese Tree Lilac needs at least six hours of good sun for flowering and likes regular watering, but has no fussy soil requirements. Be careful to avoid using lawn fertilizer around the plant base, or you may encourage more foliage than flowers. If pruning is needed, do so right after flowering. Zones 3-7.

Spiraea - Limemound - Sale Price: $51.35 Spiraea - Limemound, Spiraea bumalda 'Limemound', is a low spreading plant with bright lemon-yellow foliage that matures to lime green on a dense, compact mounding form. The sharply toothed leaves are lime green, lance-shaped, to 5 inches long.  In the fall the foliage changes to an orange-red color with red stems.   This deciduous plant is good as a filler when used with other green-leafed plants, or is a great plant for massing. Producing showy pink flat flower clusters all summer, Limemound takes little maintenance and is easy to grow.  Prune in late winter or early spring, if needed. Limemound prefers average, medium, well-drained soil in full sun.  It tolerates a wide range of soils. Remove faded flower clusters to promote additional bloom. Viburnum - Forest Rouge Blackhaw - Sale Price: $43.95 The Forest Rouge Blackhaw Viburnum, Viburnum prunifolium 'McKRouge', is a trademarked selection made by Dan Moore at Mckay Nursery. This shrub has a dense, more oval, upright branching form than the species.  The foliage emerges yellow green and ages to a dark, shiny green. It is grown for this glossy, fine, smooth, textured foliage. Dark red young stems are a lovely contrast to the emerging yellow-green foliage.   Clusters of creamy-white flowers appear in spring followed by bluish-black berries that persist through fall until winter.  The fall color starts early on plants that are in full sun, and they will hold late into the season.  The plant is appropriately named because the 'Forest Rouge Blackhawk' has an outstanding maroon fall color. Forest Rouge Blackhaw works well for wildlife or naturalizing areas.
