Rhododendron - Hellikki - Sale Price: $51.35 Rhododendron - Helikki, Rhododendron x 'Helikki', is a fairly new dense broadleaf evergreen shrub with trusses of sumptuous and showy dark violet-red flowers. Appearing in spring, Helikki's flowers help make this a very effective accent! They blanket the shrub with stunning clusters of lightly scented trumpet-shaped flowers. Growing at a slow rate, this plant provides green foliage with narrow leaves that do not have any appreciable fall color; develops into an open multi-stemmed shrub with a more or less rounded form. Helikki rhododendron prefers cooler regions, is sun tolerant, and looks good year around. This easy care rhododendron needs excellent drainage, mulching and a peat moss soil additive. Roots will rot in poorly drained soil, so well-drained soil is a must! Helikki requires regular waterings, particularly in hot, dry weather; established plants can benefit from fertilization.
