Clematis - Barbara Harrington - Sale Price: $42.75 Clematis Barbara Harrington, Clematis 'Barbara Harrington', has lovely cerise 4 flowers that have pointed petals with a darker border and contrasting yellow anthers. It has an exceptional free flowering habit and long bloom time: from late June through September. ‘Barbara Harrington’ looks stunning when planted with climbing roses!  This clematis needs a supporting structure to grow properly but will also grow over large shrubs, over walls, cover stumps, and make perfect cover ups for unsightly service areas. Clematis is easy to grow in a rich, porous, alkaline soil with plenty of room for the roots to spread.   Best performance is when the tops are in full sunlight and the roots are shaded, so apply generous mulch or a shallow-rooted ground cover near the base of the vine. The flowers open for one day but new blooms appear from June to October. With a plant height of 18” and a spread of 18-24”, it is one that should not be missed. The contrast of the flower color and foliage make it a definite eye catcher. The foliage of spiderworts looks very much alike the foliage of a daylily, especially when it is first emerging. It produces beautiful deep purple daisy-like flowers that are a bit larger than the rest of its family.  It was Perennial Plant of the Year in 1998, one can see why! ‘Magnus’ blooms from July to October and is a major attractor to butterflies and bees; deer resistant.  It is a must for any perennial garden.  With its dark green foliage, Echinacea ‘Magnus’ stands 3’ high with a plant spread of 18-24”.
