Ninebark - Summer Wine® - DetailsNinebark - Summer Wine® - Sale Price: $39.95
The Physocarpus Summer Wine, Physocarpus opulifolious 'Summer Wine', is a new Ninebark that is very neat with compact branching and deeply cut, dark crimson leaves. The summer Wine is purple ninebark hybrid that resulted from a cross between Nana and Diabolo. This resulted in a shorter plant with the purple leaves. This plant requires little pruning, but if you need to prune, do it after this plant blooms. Do not prune after mid-August to allow for the flower buds to form for next years flowers. This compact ninebark looks great in a pot. Use this plant in groupings or masses, in perennial or shrub borders, containers and as a short screen. The pinkish white flowers appear in mid-summer. Summer Wine is showy and extremely hardy and is prized as a landscape shrub and as a cut flower. As with other ninebarks, the bark exfoliates in papery strips and with the colorful fruit it produces, this plant is truly a 4 season wonder! Crimson Leaves!

Its unique mop-head flowers will provide an excellent summer color to your mixed border too. The flowers first emerge green and peach then mature to hot pink. These hot pink blossoms standout out on the showy black satin stems; stems are very interesting even without blooms! If you want a blue flower color you need to add aluminum sulfate to the soil. Blooming on old wood from summer through fall, Hydrangea Abracadabra™ Orb usually requires no pruning but may be trimmed after flowering. It is best to fertilize this hydrangea in early spring with the recommended rate of slow release fertilizer. Deadhead immediately after the flowers fade to ensure prolific flowering year after year. Yew - Densiformis - DetailsYew - Densiformis - Sale Price: $64.25
The Dens Yew, or Yew Densiformis, 'Taxus x media 'Densiformis', is one of the most popular evergreen shrubs today. This very popular yew is a rapid grower with a spreading habit and fluffy bright deep green needles. The new growth emerges as a brighter green and eventually matures to deep green. With a plant height of 4’ and a width of 6’, the dark green foliage adds color to every garden; foliage will turn a nice red to burgundy color in the fall. It is best to plant in full shade in a moist area because it is intolerant of poor drainage; can be damaged if exposed to excessive winter sun and wind. Holly - Compact Japanese - DetailsHolly - Compact Japanese - Sale Price: $106.95
The Compact Japanese Holly, Ilex crenata 'Compacta', is a well-branched, somewhat oval-shaped, and compact shrub to 4 feet high and wide. It does well in neutral to acid soil. Plant this holly in mass groups as low shrubs, low hedges, or tall groundcovers. The compact habit of growth and small leaves make these ideal plants for use as clipped, formal hedges. Japanese Holly develops without clipping making it well suited for planting along a foundation. Plant 3 to 4 feet apart to form a hedge, plant farther apart if used in a shrub border. It shears fairly well, but will thin slightly toward the base, especially if not located in full sun. This compact holly can be sheared into various shapes. This plant is an evergreen and it is deer resistant! If you are using this plant as a hedge, clip the hedge so it is wider at the bottom. This will allow light to the bottom leaves and branches and will help keep the hedge full to the ground. Zones 6-9.
