Kerria - Golden Guinea The Golden Guinea Kerria, Kerria japonica 'Golden Guinea', is a tough, upright, rounded shrub that will brighten up your sun or shade border. It is a twiggy, deciduous shrub with double-toothed, corrugated foliage. 'Golden Guinea' has golden yellow, globe-shaped flowers that are borne from April through May. The interesting bright green stems stay green all winter. If grown in sun, it does prefer protection from late afternoon sun. Really effective planted around white barked aspen. Easily grown in average garden soils.
