Lilac - Ludwig Spaeth
Extend Your Lilac Season With This Gorgeous Late Bloomer The Ludwig Spaeth Lilac is a French Hybrid Lilac. It’s a gorgeous late bloomer that extends the Lilac season. In early spring traditional, medium green, heart shaped Lilac leaves will unfurl marking the beginning of the season. However, the Ludwig Spaeth really starts its show well after your other Lilacs have started blooming. In early June your shrub will be covered with huge clusters of beautiful deep reddish-purple blooms that will compliment lighter colored Lilacs beautifully. The Ludwig Spaeth Lilacs are excellent as cut flowers. The large blooms will carry the lovely fragrant scent of spring into your home. This Lilacs upright form makes it a wonderful choice for a screen or border. A mixed border or group planting of these would be stunning as well. The Ludwig Spaeth grows 10-12 feet tall and 6-8 feet wide. It will tolerate some shade, but will bloom best in full sun. A must have variety for Lilac lovers; Ludwig Spaeth is prized for its large fragrant rich violet flowers. * Fragrant * Late Bloomer * Low Maintenance

Sumac - Fragrant - DetailsSumac - Fragrant - Sale Price: $57.05
The Fragrant Sumac, Rhus aromatica, is a small shrub, most commonly encountered on limestone uplands, occasionally on acidic sites. It occasionally reaches tree size. Fragrant sumac is a pioneer species, establishing rapidly from seed after heavy disturbance, particularly fire. Like other sumacs, it forms clonal clumps, but not as extensively as the other species. Fragrant sumac is a short-lived pioneer, which reproduces from seed or clonally via root suckers. Seed production is moderately abundant, and seeds are dispersed by birds. Lifespan is about 20-30 years, though clones can live substantially longer. Fruit is important as winter bird food. This is an important deer browsing species. The fruits, steeped in cool water, yield a refreshing drink, like lemonade. Native Americans used the bark of all sumacs as an astringent, and leaves and bark can be used for tanning leather, due to the high tannin content.

Butterfly Bush - Asian Moon Sterile - DetailsButterfly Bush - Asian Moon Sterile - Sale Price: $99.95
The Butterfly Bush Asian Moon Sterile, Buddleia davidii 'Asian Moon', is a wonderful new butterfly bush that is not invasive. This butterfly bush attracts a profusion of butterflies all season long, and since the seeds of these flowers are sterile, the plant has a longer bloom time and is not invasive. It stands out in any sunny landscape because of its symmetrical, rounded habit and stunning purple flowers. This fast growing plant will require some pruning to keep it looking fresh each spring. Cutting the bush back to half its size in July will not only control its growth, but will encourage reblooming too. Newly planted butterfly bushes need 1 inch of rain or supplemental irrigation each week for the first month. Once it has reached maturity, the Asian Moon butterfly bush is drought-tolerant and requires less water. Plant this stunning plant to add color; use as a specimen, accent, or it can be planted near water gardens or ponds!

It is best to follow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system. Feed with a general purpose fertilizer before new growth begins in spring. For a tidy, neat appearance, shear annually to shape. 'Nordic Compact' is well suited to low hedges, but single specimens can also be sheared for topiary-like precision form. Because of wind resistance, it makes an excellent choice that helps with snow drift. This Inkberry prefers moist, well-drained, slightly-acidic soils, rich in organic matter.
