Lilac - Madam Lemoine
Madame Lemoine Lilac, Syringa vulgaris 'Madame Lemoine', is a French Hybrid Lilac that forms a wide spreading plant with double, fragrant, pure white flowers produced freely in May. It displays shiny, dark green summer foliage. It doesn't tend to sucker like most other lilacs. Ideal as a cut flower and a single cluster can scent an entire room! It is easily grown in average, medium moist, well-drained soil in full sun. Madame Lemoine Lilac tolerates light shade, but best bloom is in full sun. It prefers organically rich, slightly acidic soils with good drainage. Once it is established, it only needs occasional watering. Being very showy and extremely fragrant, it makes a wonderful screen or border specimen. This plant is attractive to bees, butterflies and/or birds and grows 8-10 feet tall and 10 feet wide. It becomes drought resistant once established, and deer tend to ignore it. * White Flowers! * Fragrant!

Sumac - Fragrant - DetailsSumac - Fragrant - Sale Price: $57.05
The Fragrant Sumac, Rhus aromatica, is a small shrub, most commonly encountered on limestone uplands, occasionally on acidic sites. It occasionally reaches tree size. Fragrant sumac is a pioneer species, establishing rapidly from seed after heavy disturbance, particularly fire. Like other sumacs, it forms clonal clumps, but not as extensively as the other species. Fragrant sumac is a short-lived pioneer, which reproduces from seed or clonally via root suckers. Seed production is moderately abundant, and seeds are dispersed by birds. Lifespan is about 20-30 years, though clones can live substantially longer. Fruit is important as winter bird food. This is an important deer browsing species. The fruits, steeped in cool water, yield a refreshing drink, like lemonade. Native Americans used the bark of all sumacs as an astringent, and leaves and bark can be used for tanning leather, due to the high tannin content.
