Box Elder Maple - Sale Price: $99.95 The Box Elder Maple tree, Acer negundo, is also commonly known as Ashleaf maple, Manitoba maple, Box-elder maple, and Western box-elder.  This deciduous maple tree is a small-to-medium-sized tree, reaching heights of 50 to 75 feet, with a trunk diameter up to 4 feet.  The trunk is relatively short and tapering, and the crown is spreading and bushy.  It is more often seen as a smaller tree with cane-like, bright green branches. Box Elder trees are fast growing and tolerate poor conditions. Although it grows best on moist soils, box-elder is drought and cold resistant.  It can also tolerate flooding for extended periods (up to a month). Texana Nuttall Oak - Sale Price: $59.95 The Texana Nuttall Oak tree, Quercus texana, also known as Spanish oak, Nuttall's oak, Texas red oak, Spotted Oak, Rock oak, and red river oak, is a large deciduous native tree of the red oak group. The Texana Nuttail tree has a wide-spreading, rounded crown. Fruits are oval acorns (to 1 1/2 long) with scaly cups. Dark green leaves (4-8 long) are deeply divided into 5-7 spiny, pointed lobes. Leaf shape is reminiscent of the closely related pin oaks and schumard oaks. Fall color comes late, but often includes quality shades of red. Species name is in reference to the state of Texas where this oak was apparently first identified. The popularity and demand for this oak species is driven by its fast growth rate, ease of care and planting, fall color, and its ability to thrive in wet soils. Texana has gray-brown bark, initially thin and smooth, and later develops narrow scaly ridges. The acorn matures in two seasons. Summit Ash - Sale Price: $114.95 The Summit Ash, Fraxinus pennsylvanica 'Summit', is a vigorous selection of Green Ash that features a straight trunk and is uniformly upright in habit.  Being very hardy, it tends to color early in the fall with golden yellow color! Although reported to be a female selection, seed production has not been a problem.  It rarely is fed on by Japanese beetles.   Once developed properly in the nursery, the trunk remains straight up through the crown of the tree, and the branch habit is reported to be better than the species.  Early pruning helps assure that this happens. The attractive bark is red-tinged and furrowed, and it is reportedly thicker than other Ashes.  The tree grows quickly and can sometimes reach 80 feet in height.
