Peony - Festiva Maxima
Peony - Festiva Maxima The Peony Festiva Maxima, Paeonia lactiflora 'Festiva Maxima' is considered to be one of the best double flowering peonies with white blossoms and a hint of pink peaking through the center of each bloom! The flowers are very fragrant, and after blooming has finished, you are left with a beautiful mound of glossy green foliage that stays attractive all season. Peonies are one of the best cut flowers and are often used in the Midwest to decorate gravesites on Memorial Day. It is not uncommon to see peonies planted along the driveway or lane in a mass. All of our peonies are widely adaptable to most soils across the country. 'Festiva Maxima' blooms in mid to late spring and has very large, colorful blooms that stand out in the spring garden. This peony can handle dry to moist sites, and does best in full sun but can handle some light shade; prefers rich well drained soil. Water the new plant frequently to help it get off to a strong start. More often than not, this peony will not flower the first year because it will spend the first season establishing itself! Often thought of as a plant used on the farm or out in the country, peonies bring a little bit of that country feeling to your garden! * Double blooms * Glossy foliage * Fragrant flowers

Hosta - Yankee Blue - Sale Price: $39.95 The Hosta Yankee Blue, Hosta 'Yankee Blue', is a vigorous, fast growing blue colored hosta that will command attention in any garden or landscape! ‘Yankee Blue’ has elongated wedge-shaped leaves with wavy margins that hold their blue color all summer, then later in the season, the color changes to blue-green. Near white flowers appear on tall scapes in midsummer. ‘Yankee Blue’ is a hosta that forms a full, symmetrical, wide mound that really brightens up a shady area. Plant this low care plant in an area that receives the right amount of light. The leaves need some morning sun to bring out the best coloration; too much sun will burn the leaves. 'Yankee Blue' is most at home in shady, woodland settings and often works well as specimen or edging plant. Hostas grow best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5. Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots. It is best to keep areas around hostas clear of excess leaf debris to reduce the presence of slugs and snails. 'Yankee Blue’ has a very good substance and excellent vigor, especially for a blue! This may become your favorite blue hosta yet! * Large plant * Clumping habit * Appealing blue foliage |
Phlox - Emerald Pink - Sale Price: $39.95 Phlox Emerald Pink, Phlox subulata 'Emerald Pink', ushers in spring with a profusion of fabulous color. This low growing creeping phlox is no taller than 6. Phlox 'Emerald Pink' has a compact habit that is perfect for borders and rock gardens. Mass plantings of 'Emerald Pink' will create a beautiful sea of pink in your garden landscape! Gritty, slightly alkaline soils are preferred and good drainage is essential for 'Emerald Pink'. It's a good idea to shear this plant back and clean up any dead foliage in early summer, just after its finished blooming. This will produce denser foliage and will encourage it to rebloom. The needle-like semi-evergreen foliage forms a tough, durable ground cover. During the winter, in cold areas, the plants may die back and recover again in the spring. * Attracts Butterflies * Blooms Late Spring * Deer Resistant
Clematis - Nelly Moser - Sale Price: $42.75 Clematis Nelly Moser, Clematis 'Nelly Moser', is an outstanding vigorous cultivar that is perfect for a shady location! When planted in full sun, the flower color fades quickly. The light mauve-pink petals have deep rose-pink central bars that give the large 8 flowers a pinwheel look. Very floriferous flowering in late spring to early summer and again in early autumn. 'Nelly Moser' is one of the most popular Clematis cultivars and will surely brighten any dark, shady area! Awarded Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit. Clematis 'Nelly Moser' needs a supporting structure to grow properly. Clematis is easy to grow in a rich, porous, alkaline soil with plenty of room for the roots to spread. Best performance is in the shade. Very reliable performers once established; they take a season or two. Prune lightly above the new leaf buds in early spring and remove any dead or weak stems.
Coreopsis - Moonbeam - Sale Price: $49.95 The Coreopsis ‘Moonbeam’, Coreopsis verticillata, is the most popular perennial in its family. ‘Moonbeam’ was named Perennial of the Year in 1995 and one can see why. With its clusters of light yellow, daisy-like blooms and its green airy fernlike foliage, ‘Moonbeam’ Coreopsis blooms from June through October and is mildew resistant. ‘Moonbeam’ stands at 24†and has a plant spread of 18-24â€Â. ‘Moonbeam’ should be planted in full sun. It is drought-tolerant and tough but does need well-drained soil. It should be cut backing early and late summer to extend the bloom period. Coreopsis ‘Moonbeam’ looks great with Coreopsis ‘Sweet Dreams’, and with any type of grass, in borders or mass plantings in sunny gardens. No garden should be without it.
Grass - Variegated Feather Reed - Sale Price: $29.95 Grass - Variegated Feather Reed, Calamagrostis acutiflora 'Overdam', displays white and green leaves, and its smaller size makes it more refined than 'Karl Forester'. In some ways, it is even more pleasing than its big brother, Karl. It has medium blade width and flowers in June through July. It will most likely remain upright throughout the winter. Variegated Feather Reed does well in heavy clay soils, unlike many of the other ornamental grasses. It provides an excellent vertical accent for borders and for narrow spaces in the landscape. It is also effective in moist low spots or on pond/stream banks. With ample moisture it will do well in full sun, but likes a little shade in hot climates. Variegated Feather Reed works well as a specimen, or incorporated into a border and makes a good low screen, especially in somewhat shady areas. Use as a backdrop for roses and other perennials. It should be cut back in early spring, just before the new growth starts. Create your own dried arrangement, because this grass does make a wonderful display for your favorite vase or basket! * Variegated * Accent plant
