The Garden Phlox 'Orange Perfection', Phlox paniculata 'Orange Perfection', is a hardy summer-blooming perennial producing salmon-orange flowers amid lance-shaped leaves and vigorous stems. 'Orange Perfection' is ideal for borders or mass plantings, since it blooms from summer to fall. The fragrant, 1 inch blooms appear in huge clusters on tall stems above the foliage. This plant is attractive to bees, butterflies and birds. It is drought-tolerant; suitable for xeriscaping and is great in borders, rock gardens, formal beds and meadows. Space plants 10-16 inches apart in the middle or back of the flower bed, allowing for plenty of air circulation. Mulch after the ground freezes.

The Clematis ‘Henryi’, Lanuginosa X group, has white flowers with chocolate brown anthers that bloom in June and September;  range in height of 10-12’ and a spread of 3’. The Grass 'Porcupine', Miscanthus sinensis 'Strictus', has green leaves with cream colored horizontal bands. These leaves make this ornamental grass stand out anywhere! Silvery white plumes rise 4 feet above the foliage in fall. The 'Porcupine' tolerates a wide range of soil types and is moderately drought tolerant. It will hold up to wind and snow. This grass has a rigid, upright habit and stiff, pointed leaf blades, some of which stick out at angles like porcupine quills. Use this plant as a specimen, for mass plantings, or plant next to ponds or pools. Water this grass regularly, mainly during the season when they are blooming, as you need to have well developed roots so that the grass can absorb enough nutrition from the soil. When clumps dry in the fall they add structural interest to the winter garden. In early spring remove the dead foliage before the plants begins new growth. Clumps may be divided every 3 years or so in early spring. It is deer resistant and has very has very little pest and disease issues. Tall, tough, and showy!
