Rose - Belle Poitevine - Rugosa
Rose - Belle Poitevine - Rugosa Belle Poitevine, Rosa 'Belle Poitevine', was introduced in 1894. It is graced by dense, richly veined foliage. The deep magenta-pink buds unfurl in early summer to informal warm pink blooms that continue in fragrant waves until the arrival of frost. These blooms can be up to 4 inches across! In fall, the foliage is transformed into a beautiful autumnal display of yellow and orange, accented perfectly by large orange-red fruit (hips). The decorative hips attract and feed birds in fall and winter. This rose is grown on its own root so if it freezes down the old foliage, the plant will come back true to its color and size. 'Belle Poitevine' is fragrant and would make a good choice for a large hedge, especially in cooler climates. A healthy, vigorous plant, it can reach 5 feet tall and 4 feet wide. This rugosa rose is resistant to mildew, rust, and blackspot. Pink blooms on an always reliable plant! Hardy! Fragrant!

Rose - White Rugosa - Shrub - Sale Price: $57.05 White Rugosa Rose, Rosa rugosa alba, is like Rosa rugosa, but this white rose adapts to a variety of conditions, including where salt tolerance is a concern. It is salt-tolerant so it is useful in northern climates along roadside or driveways that are being deiced regularly with salt. Its pale blush pink buds open to highly fragrant snow-white blooms with creamy yellow stamens. In fall, the disease resistant foliage takes on shades of orange and scarlet to accompany the large orange red hips. This Rugosa develops 1 inch orange/red berries (hips) in August which last through the winter to provide food for wildlife. This rose has its own root. The advantage of own root roses is that once established they are very resilient. If winter's freezing breezes kill the top growth, the rose will grow back in the spring, and the recovered rose will look the same as the one you purchased. It grows 3 to 6 feet, depending on how you prune and its access to full sun, but it will tolerate partial shade. White Rugosa is quite drought resistant once established.
