Rose - Blanc Double de Coubert - Hybrid Rugosa
Rose - Blanc Double de Coubert - Hybrid Rugosa If for no other reason, buy this resilient antique rose for its large, intoxicatingly fragrant, semi-double white flowers. This rose was introduced in 1892 and is still going strong. The late spring/early summer repeat blooms are followed by bright red hips, and the shiny, dark green foliage looks good all season long. ‘Blanc Double de Coubert’ is one of the very few shade-tolerant roses. It is also resistant to black spot, mildew and rust. Keep the soil a bit on the acid side (5.8 - 6.3) and the results will really wow you. This plant produces gorgeous cut flowers and it also dries well for wreaths, scrapbooking and other decorative uses. Note: this rose has its own root; if a harsh winter freeze kills the top growth, the rose will recover and grow back in the spring, good as new. The Blanc Double de Coubert is renowned for its strong fragrance! The rose hips are high in vitamin C and are used for tea, jams, and jellies. * Disease Resistant * Very hardy

Rose - Therese Bugnet - Shrub - Sale Price: $57.05 The Therese Bugnet Rose, Rosa 'Therese Bugnet', is a hardy shrub rose with large, red to pale pink, double flowers that are very fragrant and bloom from mid-June until frost. The blue-green, long narrow foliage with its red fall color makes an attractive addition to the landscape. This rose has its own root. The advantage of own root roses is that once established they are very resilient. If winter's freezing breezes kill the top growth, the rose will grow back in the spring, and the recovered rose will look the same as the one you purchased. Therese Bugnet is a true zone 3 plant as its origin in Canada in 1950 might suggest. This plant is very hardy. The form is dense, upright, and mounding in full sun. Therese Bugnet will bloom in part shade, but not as much as in full sun. Use this plant as a border or hedge as it stays fully leafed to the ground. The canes turn red in the winter so it has great winter interest, especially when contrasted with snow. Pruning to control size is best done in earl spring before growth begins. Remove older canes to the ground and cut the younger ones back by 1/3 to control plant size, if needed. From 1950 until now, this is truly a reliable hardy rose! |

| Rose - Redleaf - Shrub - Sale Price: $57.05 The Redleaf Rose, Rosa glauca, produces clear pink, fragrant flowers in June followed by long lasting bright red hips. The reddish-violet stems and beautifully colored foliage, purple in sunny locations, gray green with mauve in shady areas, are prized by flower arrangers. This rose has its own root. The advantage of own root roses is that once established they are very resilient. If winter's freezing breezes kill the top growth, the rose will grow back in the spring, and the recovered rose will look the same as the one you purchased. Many times this rose is grown for its beautiful foliage and hips. The foliage has a reddish tint to it throughout the summer and then it turns even redder in the fall! Redleaf produces many orange-red hips in the fall. This rose then becomes ornamental in the fall and all winter long! Use this rose for fall and winter interest, as a specimen, accent shrub, or a flowering hedge. Very hardy and disease resistant! Pink flowers and red foliage—Beautiful! |
