Snowberry - White
Snowberry - White White Snowberry, symphoricarpos 'white hedge', has dainty pink flowers that appear in July. It is accented with blue-green foliage, and then produces large white berries in autumn. Snowberry is unique because few shrubs produce white berries! Hummingbirds love the flowers, and in the fall the white berries are an excellent food for birds. The berries hang on all season so they offer winter and spring landscape interest. Snowberry is good for holding soil on steep bank and prefers light sun and moist conditions. This plant works best when planted in masses or mixed with several other plants of similar height. White Snowberry is a dense, twiggy shrub that grows 5-6 feet tall and 3-6 feet wide, and it spreads by suckers underground. This plant prefers sun to medium shade, tolerates any soil, and is easy to transplant. It should be pruned before new growth begins. It is a delicate looking plant with a quietly enchanting quality. The egg white berries seem to float lightly in the air, all about the plant. This and their small, scattered leaf pattern, give the plant a low but airy quality! * White berries * Delicate looking * Twiggy shrub

| Butterfly Bush - Asian Moon Sterile - Sale Price: $99.95 The Butterfly Bush Asian Moon Sterile, Buddleia davidii 'Asian Moon', is a wonderful new butterfly bush that is not invasive. This butterfly bush attracts a profusion of butterflies all season long, and since the seeds of these flowers are sterile, the plant has a longer bloom time and is not invasive. It stands out in any sunny landscape because of its symmetrical, rounded habit and stunning purple flowers. This fast growing plant will require some pruning to keep it looking fresh each spring. | Witch-hazel - Common - Sale Price: $64.25 The Common Witch-Hazel, Hamamelis virginiana, is extraordinary in its flowering habits. It flowers in late October to early December. Many times its slender yellow petals are the only signs of color in the dormant woods. Witch-hazel is pollinated by the winter moth. After pollination, the fruits become dormant for the winter, developing over the following growing season and maturing in the fall, 10-12 months after pollination. Seeds are dispersed by gravity, or are eaten and excreted by birds. Witch-hazel seeds germinate the following spring or enter the seed bank. Early growth is slow, and in fact remains slow throughout the life of the tree in its typical shady habitat. As individuals, witch-hazel probably does not live more than 100 years, but they reproduce from root sprouts, and clones may live for a very long time. |
