Hydrangea - Late Panicle - Sale Price: $49.95 The Hydrangea 'Late Panicle', Hydrangea paniculata 'Tardiva', this shrub has white airy flowers that can reach 10-12 in length in late August. The flowers are a mixture of sterile and fertile flowers which gives the flowers less density and less likelihood to tip or droop. Flowers will turn bronze in fall. The flower heads will stay on the plant during much of the winter if conditions are not severe.  These shrubs are fast growing and are great for informal     screens, specimen plants, or for cut arrangements. Cut the flower heads when they are fully open and hang to dry in a warm, airy place. You may prune every year in the fall after blooming, no more than 1/3 of the plant. Dogwood - Yellow Twig - Sale Price: $54.25 The Dogwood 'Yellow Twig', Cornus sericea 'Flaviramea', is a medium sized shrub with bright yellow twigs. These yellow twigs provide a good contrast against any Red-twig with its yellow fall color. The foliage is medium to dark green in summer, followed by purplish fall color. The twigs are green in summer, but turn bright clear yellow in fall and are quite conspicuous in winter, especially if planted in groups with one of the red twigged dogwoods. Pruned twigs invariably die back to the next bud and turn black from there to the pruned end of the twig, leaving ugly black ends on bright yellow twigs. Prune with care; remove branches or twigs only at the ground line. Plant in full sun and provide a well watered location.

Holly - Compact Japanese - Sale Price: $106.95 The Compact Japanese Holly, Ilex crenata 'Compacta', is a well-branched, somewhat oval-shaped, and compact shrub to 4 feet high and wide. It does well in neutral to acid soil. Plant this holly in mass groups as low shrubs, low hedges, or tall groundcovers. The compact habit of growth and small leaves make these ideal plants for use as clipped, formal hedges. Japanese Holly develops without clipping making it well suited for planting along a foundation. Plant 3 to 4 feet apart to form a hedge, plant farther apart if used in a shrub border. It shears fairly well, but will thin slightly toward the base, especially if not located in full sun. This compact holly can be sheared into various shapes. This plant is an evergreen and it is deer resistant! If you are using this plant as a hedge, clip the hedge so it is wider at the bottom. This will allow light to the bottom leaves and branches and will help keep the hedge full to the ground. Zones 6-9.
