Barberry - Golden
Barberry - Golden The Barberry 'Golden', Berberis thunbergii aurea, is a small, slow growing deciduous shrub to 3 to 4 feet with equal spread. Small white flowers can be observed in little clusters beginning in early April, lasting through May. The bright yellow foliage turns to green by late summer then red in fall; more lime green in summer if planted in shady spots. 'Golden' is a definite knockout in just about any landscape! Plant as an accent shrub or in mass plantings. (May be too bright for use as a hedge due to the intense bright yellow color if planted in full sun.) Small 1/4 long bright red, oval shaped seed pods are sometimes seen on 'Golden' Barberry in late fall, after the leaves have dropped. This Barberry seems to do best when watered regularly; has an above average moisture requirement. Zones 4-9 Order now, light up your landscape! Great Fall Color!

Beauty Bush - Pink Cloud - Sale Price: $13.95 Beauty Bush - Pink Cloud, Kolkwitzia amabilis 'Pink Cloud', produces white-pink flowers that are carried into May on arching stems, and this colorful display has quite an effect. The bell-shaped pink flowers have yellow throats that appear in clusters in a profuse mid-spring bloom. The rest of the year, it remains a mound of foliage, doing its job of screening the view of the neighbors! A member of the honeysuckle family, it is a suckering, deciduous shrub that typically grows 6' to 10’ tall with an arching, vase-shaped habit. Pink Cloud's flowers are followed by capsule-like fruits that usually persist on the plants. Broad-ovate dark green leaves turn an undistinguished yellow in fall. Easily grown in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun. Best flowering is in full sun. Diminished flowering, often accompanied with a more arching-spreading habit, occurs in part shade. Use Beauty Bush in your landscape design as a screen, as a specimen or at the corner of a house in groups of three. |

It is extremely dense in full sun, a little less dense in partial shade locations. 'Blue Point' prefers average to slightly acidic and sandy soil that needs to be well drained. | Yew - Hicks - Sale Price: $45.65 Yew - Hicks, Taxus x media 'Hicksii', is one of the most popular upright columnar yews. It is a dense, narrow, columnar, evergreen shrub with ascending branching with lustrous dark green needles above and lighter green below. It typically matures to a height of 18' to 20' with a spread of 6' to 10' wide after 20 years; very narrow when young and widening with age. Yews are classified as conifers, but female plants (yews are dioecious) produce red, fleshy, single-seeded fruit instead of cones. Easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soils of neutral pH in full sun to part shade. Hicks Yew tolerates a wide range of soils as long as drainage is good. Also tolerant of full shade and considerable pruning, but intolerant of temperature extremes. Use as a specimen, screen, hedge or foundation plant. |
| Dogwood - Red Twigged - Sale Price: $54.25 Whether you call it a Redtwig, Redstem, Redosier or Red Osier, this stunning dogwood’s red winter bark just make the winter a lot less dreary. It is perfect for a shady spot, near a tree line or on the north side of a house, but will do equally well in full sun as a hedge or in a group. Needs attentive watering; leaves can wilt in very hot sun, which may be mistaken for thirstiness. The red-twigged dogwood offers interest year-‘round: milky white flowers in spring, then soothing green foliage in spring and summer, cabernet-wine colored leaves in fall, and its signature deep red bark in winter. In early spring, cut the shrub back to four to six inches from the ground to ensure a perennial show of red stems over the coming winters. The clustered fruits are low in sugar, which birds seem to like more than deer; in fact, this shrub is the favored nesting place of American goldfinches. Zones 3-7. * Lots of winter interest! |
| Spiraea - Crisp Leaf - Sale Price: $51.35 The Spirea 'Crisp Leaf', Spiraea x bumalda 'Crispa', has pink flowers in large clusters. With its fine textured leaves and clusters of pink flowers, this plant will charm its way into a special place in your garden. This plant is extremely popular because of its size, bloom color and season of bloom. Spireas all have small leaves and fine, twiggy branches. Once established, they are drought tolerant. |
