Weigela - Carnaval - Sale Price: $57.10 Carnaval Weigela, weigela florida 'Courtalor', is a beautiful shrub that produces multitudes of pink flower buds that open into shades of red, white and pink trumpet-shaped flowers. The glossy deep green leaves are heavily textured. Carnaval is an extremely showy landscape plant with a growth that measures 4-5 feet tall and 3-5 feet wide. Slowly prune the down growing branches, and it will vigorously grow upright. Carnaval is a grower favorite because it is easy to plant, easy to maintain, and easy to enjoy! It likes sandy, well drained soil under almost any conditions. It can be planted as a specimen, hedge or in groupings planted 3 feet apart. It grows best in a sunny location with moist soil. This weigela tolerates some drought.

This plant needs excellent drainage, mulching and a peat moss soil additive. Roots will rot in poorly drained soil. It will not do well in windy sites. This shrub is fussy about its soil conditions. The soil needs to be rich and acidic. It is a good practice to apply thick mulch around the root zone in colder climates. Any pruning should be done after flowering in order to avoid removing any of the current season’s flowers! The Haaga is a dense evergreen shrub and it is a highly valued landscape ornamental. Butterfly Bush - Nanho Purple - Sale Price: $56.45 Nanho Purple Butterfly Bush, Buddleia davidii 'Nanho Purple', is sometimes called the Summer Lilac. Vigorous growing multi-stem plant, it has tiny individual purple flowers that are produced in profusion in long, dense trusses from July to September. It is more compactly leafed than most Butterfly Bush varieties. In northern areas it dies back in winter, so trim to 6-10 in spring. It is crown hardy in zone 5, a good cut flower, and attracts butterflies. Butterfly bushes prefer full sun and must receive eight or more hours of sun a day to thrive and get the best blooms. Cut faded flowers off of bush regularly to keep it blooming throughout the summer. It is easily maintained at four to six feet in height, and five feet wide, if it is hard-pruned annually.
