Coneflower - Green Jewel
Coneflower Green Jewel, Echinacea purpurea 'Green Jewel' (PP#18,678), is a fragrant jewel every garden must have! The large green cone center is surrounded by soft green petals that stay true to their color as they age.  'Green Jewel' has truly lime green flowers on a nicely compact habit.  It is perfect for fresh cut or dried floral arrangements. Echinacea 'Green Jewel' was discovered by Piet Oudolf and introduced through Future Plants. For best results, plant in full sun in a well drained area. Echinacea is known for its large flower heads that turn to seed in the fall. It is a great choice for cut flowers, and it adds a wilderness look to your garden. Not only is it a prized perennial for many gardeners, but it is also said to be a potent medicine. Divide clumps when they become overcrowded (about every 4 years.  'Green Jewel' usually reblooms without deadheading, but if spent flowers are removed, this procedure will encourage continued beautiful blooms and improves general appearance. This coneflower keeps coming all summer on tall plants with excellent branching;  deer resistant. If you leave some spent blooms on the plants in fall their seeds provide winter food for birds.  You can enjoy the dried seed heads as well, because they will provide architectural interest in the winter. 'Green Jewel' will give you weeks of color with its outstanding and unusually brilliant lime green color!  It is a perfect companion for red Knockout roses, late-blooming sedums and colorful ornamental grasses. * Fragrant * Hardy * Long lasting blooms

Hosta - Ripple Effect - DetailsHosta - Ripple Effect - Sale Price: $42.75
The Hosta Ripple Effect, Hosta 'Ripple Effect’, has plenty of bright color that will attract everyone's attention!  Ripple Effect is a unique hosta that is a sport of ‘June’. It produces long, twisted, and narrow gold leaves that have a “ripple” effect.  When the new leaves emerge, they have narrow blue-green margins that blend nicely toward their golden yellow centers.   The foliage makes a transition in the summer: to chartreuse with green margins.  Having lots of appeal, this low horizontal mounding hosta displays its lavender flowers in the summer, rising above its unique foliage. Hostas grow best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5.  Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots.  It is best to keep areas around hostas clear of excess leaf debris to reduce the presence of slugs and snails.  Plant this low care plant in an area that receives the right amount of light.  The leaves need some morning sun to bring out the best coloration; too much sun will burn the leaves.  'Ripple Effect’ is most at home in shady, woodland settings and often works well as specimen or edging plant. 'Ripple Effect’ is a unique hosta and has lots of appeal so it will attract attention wherever it is planted! * Twisted and rippled leaves * Horizontal mounding * Mounded habit
