Hosta - Celestial - Sale Price: $42.75 Hosta Celestial, Hosta 'Celestial', is a large plant that has deeply corrugated, rounded leaves that measure 12-15 long! 'Celestial' has dark green leaves with a greenish yellow color swept across the margins, and then brightens to a creamy white in the summer. In midsummer, pale lavender flowers are produced on 33” to 36” scapes.  This new variety is considered by some hosta experts to be an improvement over ‘Northern Halo' and other white edged sieboldiana types.  This cream-edged, low care perennial is ideal for shady positions.  It is most at home in shady, woodland settings and often works well as specimen or edging plant. 'Celestial' needs high-filtered or dappled sunlight for clean, healthy growth.  Morning sun is tolerable and will help to intensify the leaf colors, but hot afternoon sun is usually deadly to hostas! This Ajuga has unusually narrow foliage of dark green, overlaid with chocolate-brown, forming a very low clump.  It is most noted for its dwarf habit and its chocolate foliage. The flowers appear in spring and are 4” in height with a plant width of 12-18”. It is not as invasive as most other Ajuga and best-planted 6-9” apart for a quick cover. Ajuga ‘Chocolate Chips’ will do best in a shaded area but will adapt to morning sun. It prefers moist soil with a good drainage but will tolerate moderately dry areas.
