Salvia - Marcus - Sale Price: $42.75 The Salvia ‘Marcus’, Salvia nemorosa, (PPAF) is a new dwarf version of the Salvia ‘May Night’. With its compact, dense habit of growing, it is easy to accommodate in any perennial garden. Marcus produces spikes of intense violet-blue flowers bloom on top gray-green foliage and flower from June to October. ‘Marcus’ has a plant height of 12” and a spread of 12-18”. Salvia ‘Marcus’ should be planted in full sun in a moist well-drained area. To increase bloom time, it should be cut back after the first bloom. ‘Marcus’ is a magnet for butterflies, bees and hummingbirds and is deer-resistant. This salvia does very well in heat. The large clumps of long grass-like leaves have showy clusters of creamy salmon pink lily-like blooms on tall stems.  As it blooms in midsummer, it will remind you of a big juicy peach! Fertilize early in the plant’s growing cycle ; a rugged, adaptable, vigorous perennial that endures in a garden for many years with little or no care. It produces long, twisted, and narrow gold leaves that have a “ripple” effect.  When the new leaves emerge, they have narrow blue-green margins that blend nicely toward their golden yellow centers.   The foliage makes a transition in the summer: to chartreuse with green margins.  Having lots of appeal, this low horizontal mounding hosta displays its lavender flowers in the summer, rising above its unique foliage.
