Sirius Water Lily - Sale Price: $29.95 Named for the brightest star in the sky, this outstanding lily lives up to its name by producing large purplish-red flowers in profusion. The leaves are flecked maroon before maturing to all green. ‘Sirius’ is truly a classic in the water lily world, hybridized by Latour-Marliac Nursery in 1913. The purple-red flowers are 6-7 inches wide, the large leaves are 10-11 inches wide, and the overall plant spread is 5-6 feet wide. This water lily grows best in full to partial sun. Spiderwort - Concord Grape - Sale Price: $35.65 The Spiderwort 'Concord Grape', Tradescantia ‘Concord Grape’, has dark bluish-green foliage with purple flowers. The flowers open for one day but new blooms appear from June to October. With a plant height of 18” and a spread of 18-24”, it is one that should not be missed. The contrast of the flower color and foliage make it a definite eye catcher. The foliage of spiderworts looks very much alike the foliage of a daylily, especially when it is first emerging. Deadhead after the first flowering to prolong its blooming time. Tradescantia ‘Concord Grape’ should be planted in a sunny area. It will tolerate some morning shade with well-drained soil. It will accept damp soil but should not be over watered. ‘Concord Grape’ mixes beautifully with wild and naturalistic woodlands, in any perennial bed or as a border plant and attracts butterflies. Clematis - Sunset - Sale Price: $42.75 Clematis Sunset, Clematis 'Sunset', is aptly named because this clematis will dazzle your garden with gorgeous deep plum-red flowers, with purple highlights that resemble the colors of a magnificent sunset! Each textured petal has a satiny cerise central bar. The buttery-yellow anthers are also a wonderful accent. It is a very free flowering variety which reblooms in late summer with masses of flowers. Clematis 'Sunset' needs a supporting structure to grow properly and it is easy to grow with a rich, porous, alkaline soil that has plenty of room for the roots to spread. Clematis can be grown in full sun or light shade, but its base and roots must be completely shaded.  Prune lightly above the new leaf buds in early spring and remove any dead or weak stems. Bleeding Heart - Specatabilis - Sale Price: $64.25 The Bleeding Heart Specatabilis, 'Dicentra ‘specatabilis’, is a fast-growing perennial with pink, heart-shaped flowers. It is the most common variety in its species. The blooms look wonderful against its grayish foliage.  Dicentra ‘specatabilis’ has a plant height of 30” and a width of 20”. This Dicentra should be planted in full sun but will tolerate morning shade.  It is heat tolerant and needs moist soil.  Do not let it dry out. This Bleeding Heart will bloom from May to September and is a major attractor to butterflies. The foliage does go dormant, so it is best to plant this bleeding heart among later developing perennials such as hostas and ferns which will fill in as the bleeding heart foliage begins to die back. ‘Specatabilis’ makes excellent cut flowers, in mass with groundcovers, or in potted containers.
