Black-eyed Susan - Herbstonne - Sale Price: $64.25 The Black-eyed Susan 'Herbstonne', Rudbeckia 'Herbstonne', is a summer blooming perennial with a unique green cone that is surrounded by yellow petals; this giant is the tallest of the Rudbeckia and will grow to 6 feet tall with a 3 foot spread. It does not need staking, however, you may want to stake it to make sure the flowers do not break at their peak performance. This plant can be a real eye catcher. Plant in the back of the border with buddleias, Joe Pye Weed, and ornamental grasses. The 2 to 3 wide, showy, golden yellow daisy-like blooms show off from summer until frost; spreads rapidly to cover a large area. It prefers full sun to partial sun in well-drained soil. Yarrow - Paprika - Sale Price: $64.25 The Yarrow ‘Paprika’, Achillea millefolium, is an upright gold centered, fading to light pink & creamy yellow, Yarrow that blooms from June through September. With fern-like aromatic silvery to gray-green foliage, it is considered to be one of the best yarrows in any landscape. The foliage has a somewhat strong, spicy aroma, which persists when used in dried arrangements. The flower heads are 3-4” wide, with a spread of 18-24” and a height of 24”. This Yarrow does well in average garden soils, but prefers lean, dry to medium wet, well-drained soil. (Avoid heavy clays and moist, rich, fertile soils.) Yarrow should be planted in full sun and is tolerant to hot humid summers. ‘Paprika’ is excellent for cutting, fresh or dried. Remove faded flowers regularly to promote continued blooming.
