Grass - Bowles Golden Sedge
Bowles Golden Sedge Grass, Carex elata 'Bowles Golden', has dazzling bright gold foliage with narrow green margins that make Carex 'Bowles Golden' really stand out in the garden. The attractive arching habit and its bright foliage color make a great companion plant for Heucheras. This variety thrives in consistently moist soils, and it can also be grown in shallow water at the edge of a garden pond. The more sun, the more color you get in the foliage! It is an excellent choice as a highlight plant for a shade or water garden. Since Carex Bowles Golden is a moisture loving grass, and will grow in shallow water, it looks great around a pond with blue hostas. In northern climates, it should be kept from winter winds and provided with some protection such as snow or straw. If plants look tattered in early spring, cut them back to the ground. The new foliage will quickly fill back in. Add color to your landscape!

Daylily - Fairy Tale Pink - DetailsDaylily - Fairy Tale Pink - Sale Price: $49.95
The Daylily 'Fairy Tale Pink', Hemerocallis 'Fairy Tale Pink', has a darker pink veining where the blooms originate in the throat region, and then fades towards the tips of the petals; a very delicate shade of pink with interesting color variations.    No one can simply walk by it.  Those who pass by will stop and remark on its colors, ruffled petals, and understated grace! Blooming in midsummer, the flowers are edible.  Hemerocallis are members of the lily family and the blossoms usually last one day, but these clump forming plants, with their gracefully arching strap-shaped leaves, produce enormous numbers of flowers throughout the summer. It is relatively trouble free and grows in almost any soil, as long as it is well drained.  'Fairy Tale Pink', like all daylilies, can survive many harsh conditions that other plants cannot including: polluted city environments, slopes, poor and dry soils, near pavement that is salted in winter, and under Black Walnut trees (not affected by juglone). Divide in early spring.  In areas that receive less than 6 hours of sun during the day, your daylilies will probably produce fewer and smaller blooms, and the foliage may not be as robust.  ‘Fairy Tale Pink’ can be used for stand alone plantings, edging, in borders or in mixed containers and tubs.  Planted together in large numbers, they quickly crowd out weeds and make a carefree and colorful ground cover. It also makes a beautiful floral arrangement. Use this ‘Fairy Tale Pink’ to create large swathes of lovely color in the summer landscape! * Graceful, arching leaves * Heavily ruffled

Hosta - Little Sunspot - DetailsHosta - Little Sunspot - Sale Price: $39.95
Hosta Little Sunspot, Hosta 'Little Sunspot', is cute and petite. This small hosta is great for containers or landscape edging. Hosta 'Little Sunspot' was developed by Briggs Nursery and is a sport of 'Little Aurora'.  The small gold leaves are boldly edged with .5 green margins and are slightly cupped.  In midsummer, white flowers with delicate pale lavender stripes, are produced on 16 tall scapes.   'Little Sunspot' is a low care perennial and is ideal for shady positions and is one of the most popular for landscapes.  It is best to keep areas around hostas clear of excess leaf debris to reduce the presence of slugs and snails. It grows well in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5.  Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots. Plant 'Little Sunspot' in an area that receives the right amount of light.  The leaves need some morning sun to bring out the best coloration; too much sun will burn the leaves. This charming, brightly colored Hosta can be mixed with other perennials in shady borders, rock gardens or woodland gardens, or used as an edging plant.  If you want a showy ground cover, plant ’Little Sunspot’ in mass plantings! * Small plant * Boldly edged leaves * Low maintenance

Mondo Grass - DetailsMondo Grass - Sale Price: $56.95
The Grass 'Mondo', Ophiopogon japonicus, is an evergreen perennial which forms a dense clump of grass-like leaves; similar in appearance to Liriope, but finer textured with thinner blades. ('Mondo' actually is a member of the lily family despite its appearance and common name.) The leaves emerge in clumps from a network of rhizomes that grow just below the soil surface.  With age, the clumps will merge to form a soft dense carpet of foliage.  The small light purple flowers appear in summer, but are of little interest since they are hidden in the dense foliage, and so are the small blue-black berries that follow. It can be used as a bed edge or as a groundcover in a shady area.  It is important for erosion control since the dense mat of roots holds the ground well; avoid planting it near moist areas because it will take over! 'Mondo' Grass can also be used as an evergreen in planters, either alone or mixed with seasonal annuals for color. ‘Mondo’ has a rich green color that helps to provide definition, allowing the features of the garden to really stand out.  (Its height will not compete with the features of other plants).  Plant this lush, hardy grass with slender blades that requires no mowing! * Dense clumping habit * Mat forming * Groundcover

This Brunnera is a wonderful perennial to brighten up shady areas and will look great with any shade plant on the market today.  Try a combination of plants with ‘Jack Frost’ such as, hostas, ferns, pulmonarias, and particularly hellebores, which often bloom at the same time!  The silver and white foliage of this Brunnera will lighten the shade and offer superb contrast to the surrounding greens. It does require consistently moist soil, and it does not need a lot of care, being a sure garden pleaser! * Easy to grow * Outstanding foliage * Shade
