Juniper - Youngstown - Sale Price: $45.65 The Juniper, Youngstown, Juniperus horizontalis 'Youngstown', is an evergreen and a flat top spreader with bright silvery gray foliage that turns purple in winter. It makes a nice choice to use for a spreading groundcover since it is a very low growing juniper, rarely getting more than 12 inches from the ground. Its prostrate growth habit, with tightly knit branches, creates a full centered look. It works well in rock gardens as a groundcover. The 'Porcupine' tolerates a wide range of soil types and is moderately drought tolerant. It will hold up to wind and snow. This grass has a rigid, upright habit and stiff, pointed leaf blades, some of which stick out at angles like porcupine quills. Use this plant as a specimen, for mass plantings, or plant next to ponds or pools. Water this grass regularly, mainly during the season when they are blooming, as you need to have well developed roots so that the grass can absorb enough nutrition from the soil.
