Astilbe - Rheinland - Sale Price: $71.35 The Astilbe ‘Rheinland’, Astilbe japonica, has striking tall, feathery blooms of clear pink that rise above the foliage, adding a light, airy quality.  It has mid green foliage, changing to green in the spring.  The flowers contrast wonderfully with the glossy foliage. Astilbe ‘Rheinland’ blooms in midsummer and is 24” tall and has a plant width of 18”. Do not allow Astilbe ‘Rheinland’ to dry out since it prefers moist, humusy, organically rich soils.  It is most successfully grown in a shady area, but can tolerate some morning sun. This elegant variety is very carefree and disease resistant. It thrives in full sun, but will grow in almost any location.  It was awarded Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit! 'Purpurea Plena Elegans' needs a supporting structure to grow properly.  Clematis is easy to grow in a rich, porous, alkaline soil with plenty of room for the roots to spread.
