Texas Dawn Water Lily - Sale Price: $29.95 The large yellow blossoms of ‘Texas Dawn’ are held above the water’s surface -- often in clusters of blooms. This variety, hybridized by Ken Landon in 1985, is considered to be one of the finest hybrids ever created! The yellow flowers are 5-8 inches wide, the leaves are 7-8 inches wide, and the overall plant spread is 3-5 feet wide. Texas Dawn grows best in full to partial sun. We recommend growing ‘Texas Dawn’ in a 7.5 quart or larger container (available from naturehills.com). Daisy - Becky Shasta - Sale Price: $39.95 The Daisy 'Shasta' Leucanthemum ‘Becky Daisy’, leucanthemum superbum, is the longest blooming daisy in the Leucanthemum family! With bright, large, white beautiful flowers held above its dark green foliage, this plant has a height of 3’ and a spread of 18-24”.  Being Perennial of the Year in 2003, one can see why. ‘Becky Daisy’ blooms from July to September, and if deadheaded, the blooming time will be extended. This daisy should be grown in full sun, but can tolerate some afternoon shade, in well-drained soil.  It will not tolerate excessive moisture or wet soil in the winter. Water ‘Becky Daisy’ plants weekly when rainfall is less than an inch, and remove faded flower heads to encourage more blooms. Hosta - Key West - Sale Price: $42.75 Hosta Key West, Hosta 'Key West', is a member of the 'Americana Series'.  This very large, fast growing Hosta is a cross between Hosta 'Elatior' and 'High Noon'. Lavender flowers are formed in early summer.  Hosta 'Key West' is a lovely plant with its smooth heart shaped leaves and pleasing gold color.  The bright gold, heart-shaped leaves are very large and form a clump of foliage that when mature, will reach over 6' across! 'Key West', is a low care perennial and is ideal for shady positions and is one of the most popular for landscapes.  It is best to keep areas around hostas clear of excess leaf debris to reduce the presence of slugs and snails. It grows well in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5.  Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots. Plant 'Key West', in an area that receives the right amount of light.  The leaves need some morning sun to bring out the best coloration; too much sun will burn the leaves. Daylily - Sunny Honey - Sale Price: $49.95 The Daylily Sunny Honey, 'Hemerocallis 'Sunny Honey', is a repeat blooming daylily with a 3 1/2 inch honey yellow flower, with a green throat. It has evergreen foliage growing to 24 inches.  The plants do not usually require dividing for several years, but are easily split apart in fall or early spring.  The spent flower stems can be trimmed back after blooms are finished but wait to cut back the dead foliage until early spring. This plant should continue blooming from early summer to early fall.  'Sunny Honey' provides much enjoyment when planted in borders, containers, mass plantings, as a ground cover, and as cut flowers!  Planted together in large numbers, they quickly crowd out weeds and make a carefree and colorful ground cover. Evergreen daylilies grow well in all but the most tropical regions but require protection where winters are harsh and cold.   Daylilies can survive many harsh conditions that other plants cannot including: polluted city environments, slopes, poor and dry soils, near pavement that is salted in winter, and under Black Walnut trees (not affected by juglone). Clematis - Henryi - Sale Price: $44.95 The Clematis ‘Henryi’, Lanuginosa X group, has white flowers with chocolate brown anthers that bloom in June and September;  range in height of 10-12’ and a spread of 3’. The red flowers are approximately 6-8” wide.  Clematis ‘Henryi’ was a winner of the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit and one can see why! The foliage is dark green and makes a great contrast with the flower color. Clematis prefers full sun but will tolerate shade in the morning in a well-drained area. It is best to avoid heavy pruning on this perennial until it is fully established. Clematis ‘Henryi’ needs a supporting structure to grow properly but will also grow over large shrubs. The tops of Clematis prefer full sun while their roots prefer a cool, shady area.  It is best to heavily mulch the root zone to provide this cool, shady area.
