Hosta - Sum and Substance
Hosta - Sum and Substance The Hosta Sum and Substance, Hosta 'Sum and Substance', has large, rounded leaves with heavy puckering. This Hosta is slug resistant and a vigorous grower! The lavender flowers bloom from July to August, however, Hostas are not only known for their flowers. With a plant height of 36” and a spread of 60”, this is a giant plant with colorful foliage that will need space to grow! Hosta ‘Sum and Substance’ needs to be planted in a full shade area in any moist, well-drained location. ‘Sum and Substance’ does require some sun to enhance its golden color. ‘Sum and Substance’ was named Hosta of the Year in 2004, and one can see why. The flowers are on 50” scapes, making it one of a kind! Plant this low care plant in an area that receives the right amount of light. The leaves need some morning sun to bring out the best coloration; too much sun will burn the leaves. ‘Sum and Substance’ is most at home in shady, woodland settings and often works well as specimen or edging plant. A great choice for any beginner gardener. Hostas grow best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5. Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots. It is best to keep areas around hostas clear of excess leaf debris to reduce the presence of slugs and snails. ‘Sum and Substance’ is a huge plant with stunning leaves that will light up any large shady space! * Slug resistance * Fragrant flowers * Vigorous grower

| Daylily - Scentual Sundance - Sale Price: $49.95 The Daylily 'Scentual Sundance', Hemerocallis 'Scentual Sundance', produces clusters of 4 inch golden yellow flowers with a green throat that cover this ever-blooming daylily from June until frost. This daylily has an added bonus beyond its brilliant color and lush foliage, it is wonderfully fragrant! The foliage is broader, with more substance, strength and deeper green color than 'Stella'. Remove old foliage in late fall. 'Scentual Sundance' is a rugged plant and adapts to a wide range of soil and light conditions. It establishes quickly, grows vigorously, and survives winters with little or no injury. Deadheading spent buds and removing old scapes will improve overall look, but not improve plant performance. Individual flowers last only one day, but since each plant produces many buds, the total blooming time of a well-established clump may last more than a month. Use this daylily for color in shrub borders and in perennial beds; attracts butterflies. Once established, the daylily can be an excellent groundcover on slopes because it has roots that hold soil against erosion. Divide every 3-5 years, or when the number of flower buds and the size of bloom begin to decline. 'Scentual Sundance' is an outstanding beauty that has it all! Beautiful flowers, lush foliage, and it is wonderfully fragrant! * Fragrant * Long blooming * Durable |

| Clematis - Bonanza - Sale Price: $42.75 Clematis Bonanza, Clematis 'Bonanza™', is a newly developed clematis and part of The Festoon Collection. This new Evison/Poulsen clematis is extremely free flowering from late June through September. The flowers of ‘Bonanza’ are mauve-blue with pale yellow anthers and are 3 in size. Do not underestimate the flower power of this variety because of the smaller flower size! Bred for excellent disease resistance, this clematis is easy to grow in a rich, porous, alkaline soil with plenty of room for the roots to spread. Best performance is when the tops are in full sunlight and the roots are shaded, so apply generous mulch or a shallow-rooted ground cover near the base of the vine. 'Bonanza' Clematis needs a supporting structure to grow properly but will also grow over large shrubs, over walls, cover stumps, and make perfect cover ups for unsightly service areas.
