Veronica Foxy Lady, Veronica 'Foxy Lady' PPAF, is the first ever bi-color veronica! This lovely lady features bright flower spikes that are packed with tiny, lavender-purple and white candy striped flowers. Veronica 'Foxy Lady' is a sport of 'Red Fox' and has the same dwarf habit and long bloom time as its parent!  Plant Foxy Lady in a sunny spot in the front of the border where you can get a close up view of the unique bi-color flowers. 'Foxy Lady' needs a full sun area with well-drained soil. Deadhead the flowers after the first bloom to prolong its bloom time for up to 6 weeks or so. It is tolerant of partial shade but flowering will be more profuse in full sunlight. Veronica can be used as a ground cover, in mass plantings or along borders. Try ‘Foxy Lady' with Hemerocallis ‘Stella de Oro’ or Veronica ‘White Icicles’ for color contrast. Veronica is great for the first time gardener plus it is deer resistant. Hosta Fireworks, Hosta 'Fireworks' (PP#16,062), is a dwarf, narrow margined, small sport of Hosta 'Loyalist'.  It has very unique, upright foliage! The creamy white leaves of 'Fireworks' are very narrow and have a two-tone green margin that streak around the edges.  At only 10 high, Hosta 'Fireworks' is perfect for the smaller garden.  The very pretty light lavender flowers appear on 12 inch scapes in midsummer.  Add a small sized blast of thick green and white leaves to your garden with this hardy hosta, and it will regale you with delicate lavender flowers in early summer! This low care perennial is ideal for shady positions.  'Fireworks' grows best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5.  Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots. High-filtered or dappled sunlight is necessary for clean, healthy growth.   Morning sun is tolerable and will help to intensify the leaf colors, but hot afternoon sun is usually deadly to hostas! The Echinacea 'Pink Double Delight', Echinacea purpurea, has a shorter, more compact habit than most coneflowers. A profusion of bright bubblegum pink, pompon-like, double flowers are produced on strong, well-branched stems from midsummer through early fall! The Coral Bells Marmalade, Heuchera 'Marmalade' (PP15,945), has maple leafed foliage in varying shades of amber to bronze.  Taller shoots of brown colored flowers appear on this evergreen plant in late spring. As it matures to a golden color, the foliage features contrasting hot pink undersides! Coral bells are grown more for their foliage color but the small blooms that they contain will attract hummingbirds.   Like most coral bells, 'Marmalade' thrives in partial sunlight but once established it will also grow in shade.  This variety of coral bell may also grow in full sun in cooler climates. 'Marmalade' grows best in a rich, well-drained soil; water and fertilize regularly throughout the growing season.  Use this coral bell as a ground cover, in rock gardens, as a border plant or as an edging along paths and walkways. Black-Eyed Susan Deamii, Rudbeckia fulgida var. Deamii, is a larger, cheerier, and more colorful yellow-orange black “hatted” cone flower.
