Juniper - Calgary Carpet
Juniper - Calgary Carpet, Juniperus sabina 'Monna', is a great plant to use when you need a lower growing evergreen, but don't like the prickers that one tends to associate with Junipers. Bright green in color and soft textured, the foliage of the Calgary Carpet has a scale-like appearance and is soft to the touch. The layered branching habit of this plant gives the subtle appearance of soft undulations in the ground beneath it. Calgary Carpet would serve nicely in a small Zen garden, with it's ability to suggest a forest of undulating green. This juniper does well in dry soils that are well drained, and needs to have partial to full sun exposure. It's mature height rarely exceeds 9 but can spread to 10' wide or more.

Hosta - Golden Meadows - DetailsHosta - Golden Meadows - Sale Price: $56.95
Hosta Golden Meadows, Hosta 'Golden Meadows', has outstanding foliage that requires light sun to light shade but needs to have some sun to bring out the excellent color. The large heavy leaves are slightly puckered and emerge with a cream center and a two-tone green and blue margin; leaves are often twisted, which adds extra character to this beauty! As the season progresses, the center will turn green. Spikes of small drooping funnel-shaped lily-like flowers appear in July to August. Golden Meadows Hosta is a sport of 'Elegans' and forms a somewhat unruly mound about 3 to 4 feet across. Easy to grow, Golden Meadows thrives in any moderately fertile soil, and prefers consistent moisture but is also drought tolerant once established.

Grass - Flame - DetailsGrass - Flame - Sale Price: $64.25
Grass - Flame, Miscanthus 'Purpurascens', as the common name suggests, is noted for its superior orange-red fall color. It is a compact, upright, warm season, clump-forming ornamental grass which typically grows to 3' to 4' tall. Flame Grass features medium green blades with a reddish tinge which gradually develop further reddish hues as summer progresses, eventually turning a brilliant orange-red in fall. Burgundy foliage and creamy white seed plumes persist well into winter, providing a striking winter interest. Flame Grass is easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. It is tolerant of a wide range of soils from well-drained sandy soils to the heavy clay. Flame Grass prefers moist soils and does best in full sun. This versatile ornamental grass can be used as an accent, specimen, grouping, screen or by the water. The most important consideration when growing Flame Grass is to make sure that it receives ample moisture.

Hosta - Great Expectations - DetailsHosta - Great Expectations - Sale Price: $56.95
The Hosta Great Expectations, 'Hosta sieboldiana', has puckered heart shaped leaves with creamy yellow centers and irregular blue-green edges.  This hosta is prized for its unique, large, textured leaves that have a puckered appearance. The white flowers bloom from July to August, and have a plant height of 24” and a spread of 36”.  Hostas provide bright color in shade with wonderful foliage. Hosta ‘Great Expectations’ needs to be planted in a full shade area in any moist, well-drained location.  This low care perennial is ideal for shady positions, tubs and patio pots, and one of the most popular landscape uses. A great choice for any beginner gardener! It grows best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5.  Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots. Plant ‘Great Expectations’ in an area that receives the right amount of light.  The leaves need some morning sun to bring the rich golden color out; too much sun will burn the leaves. ‘Great Expectations’ is most at home in shady, woodland settings or can be planted in groups of 3 to 5 in an area that needs lots of color! ‘Great Expectations’ will look terrific in a shade perennial garden when combined with hardy ferns, astilbe, bleeding hearts, and heucheras! * Heart shaped leaves * Hardy * Colorful foliage
