Juniper - Sargent - Sale Price: $92.75 The Sargent Juniper, Juniperus chinensis 'Sargentii Viridis', is a rich green spreading evergreen that forms a dense carpet. The color of the foliage is consistent through the winter. The nice green color has just a hint of blue to it. This juniper makes an excellent ground cover and withstands heat and salt. It has long creeping feeler type branches that reminds you of starfish legs. 'Sargent' is a very hardy juniper and displays wind and drought tolerance. 'Sargent' does not get out of control and is fairly low maintenance. Use as a mid-level ground cover or in foreground plantings. It likes well drained soils like most all junipers.

The velvety, cherry-red 6 flowers are made up of perfectly formed overlapping petals with deep pink central bars and nicely contrasting yellow anthers.
