Hosta - Satisfaction - Sale Price: $42.75 The Hosta Satisfaction, Hosta 'Satisfaction', is an incredibly spectacular and dramatic gold-edged sport of Hosta Piedmont Gold.  'Satisfaction' is bordered by wide leaf margins that are light green at first, and then turn bright gold in early summer. The gold margins get to be about 2 wide at maturity; near white flowers top the clump in mid-summer.  ‘Satisfaction' is a low mounded and stunning hosta.  It will have an impact on any area of your shade garden, and the margins turn cream if placed in a sunny location! Hostas grow best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5.  Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots.  It is best to keep areas around hostas clear of excess leaf debris to reduce the presence of slugs and snails.  Plant this low care plant in an area that receives the right amount of light.  The leaves need some morning sun to bring out the best coloration; too much sun will burn the leaves.  ‘Satisfaction' is most at home in shady, woodland settings and often works well as specimen or edging plant. Dianthus - Firewitch - Sale Price: $35.65 The Dianthus ‘Firewitch’, Dianthus gratianopolitanus, is a beautiful pink flower that can be somewhat lacy and fringed.  With its grassy blue-gray foliage and profuse blooming time, ‘Firewitch’ is one not to miss! Dianthus ‘Firewitch’ has a plant spread of 6-8” and a height of 6”. This dianthus will bloom from midsummer to early fall. In order for a longer bloom time, deadhead the blooms continuously throughout the summer. Lavender - Hidcote - Sale Price: $32.95 The Lavender 'Hidcote', Lavandula angustifolia 'Hidcote', is a dwarf variety that is a compact grower and reaches 18-24 inches tall.  It produces fragrant spikes of dark purple flowers in summer.  These flowers produce the purest lavender scent! Being drought tolerant, it is ideal as a short perennial shrub border or as an herb in a kitchen garden.  Lavender was selected in 1999 as the International Herb Association Plant of the Year! This plant is great for hedges and edging because 'Hidcote' has a more erect and compact habit.  It boasts 2½-inch, linear, downy leaves on strong stems.   The leaves open white, then turn a pale gray-blue-green color.  This Lavender grows in a well-drained, neutral to alkaline soil in an open, sunny spot.  For better drainage, add sand in the hole when first planting this lavender. Trim back in spring to encourage bushier growth; also deadhead after flowering. The sweetest scent of all lavender, it is also the most cold hardy, and it should be pruned back the first year. If you want dried flowers,  pick when showing color but before fully open; tie in bunches and hang in a cool, airy place.
