 A Late Blooming Lilac with Fall Color The Miss Canada Lilac is an extremely hardy late blooming Lilac. It’s also one our best selling pink Lilacs. Miss Canadas graceful arched branches make it lovely as a hedge or foundation plant. It is also easily shaped into an elegant small tree, a beautiful statement next to a patio. The much loved heart shaped leaves are a dark green, and will transform to a brilliant buttery yellow in the fall. In late spring your Miss Canada will be smothered in upright clusters of lightly fragrant rosy pink flowers. The clear pink blooms rising above the deep green foliage makes a stunning display. The Miss Canada Lilac performs best in full sun and adapts well to warmer climates. It is very attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds, it’s ultra hardy and easy to grow, and it’s deer resistant. The Miss Canada Lilacs beauty and scent would be a great addition to any yard. Blackhaw Viburnum, viburnum prunifolium, is an attractive, slow-growing, rounded shrub or small tree with glossy dark green foliage that turns to a shiny red in fall. It requires full sun to full shade and prefers moist, well-drained soils of average fertility in full sun. Spiraea - Limemound, Spiraea bumalda 'Limemound', is a low spreading plant with bright lemon-yellow foliage that matures to lime green on a dense, compact mounding form. The sharply toothed leaves are lime green, lance-shaped, to 5 inches long.  In the fall the foliage changes to an orange-red color with red stems.   This deciduous plant is good as a filler when used with other green-leafed plants, or is a great plant for massing. Producing showy pink flat flower clusters all summer, Limemound takes little maintenance and is easy to grow.  Prune in late winter or early spring, if needed. Limemound prefers average, medium, well-drained soil in full sun.  It tolerates a wide range of soils. Remove faded flower clusters to promote additional bloom.
