Lilac - Miss Canada
A Late Blooming Lilac with Fall Color The Miss Canada Lilac is an extremely hardy late blooming Lilac. It’s also one our best selling pink Lilacs. Miss Canadas graceful arched branches make it lovely as a hedge or foundation plant. It is also easily shaped into an elegant small tree, a beautiful statement next to a patio. The much loved heart shaped leaves are a dark green, and will transform to a brilliant buttery yellow in the fall. In late spring your Miss Canada will be smothered in upright clusters of lightly fragrant rosy pink flowers. The clear pink blooms rising above the deep green foliage makes a stunning display. The Miss Canada Lilac performs best in full sun and adapts well to warmer climates. It is very attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds, it’s ultra hardy and easy to grow, and it’s deer resistant. Lilac - Minuet - DetailsLilac - Minuet - Sale Price: $64.25
Spectacular Spring Fragrant Flowers on a Hardy Shrub The Minuet Lilac (Syringa 'Minuet') is a hardy shrub with outstanding spring flowers that are highly fragrant.  It would look spectacular in your yard planted as a hedge at the side of your house or as a focal point in your landscape. Plant them in rows near your house to enjoy the sweet scent of lilac wafting along on the evening breeze.  There’s nothing quite as breathtaking as the sight of a 5-8 foot tall rounded shrub overflowing with a profusion of soft, warm purple flowers.  The Minuet is an especially prolific lilac, so plan on snipping a few handfuls of the rich lavender panicles to fill your house with the lilac scent of spring each year. In the fall, the forest green foliage will turn a light yellow, adding further color to your autumn landscape. The Minuet actually prefers to be left alone, so a lack of pruning will allow for even more blooms.  It’s easy to care for and hardy in most soils and conditions.  It’s even tolerant of polluted urban settings.   Lilacs have long been considered a symbol of love, and having one in your yard will certainly evoke those warm feelings of home and hearth.  Your landscape won’t feel quite complete until a Lilac graces it. * Spring fragrant flowers* Hardy

Your Variegated Elderberry is valued for its delicious berries, but perhaps even more often grown for its ornamental features. The pinnate, green leaves are adorned with showy edging that starts out golden-yellow and later softens to a creamy-yellow hue. The affect is striking, creating a soft, elegant appearance for your home landscape. In the spring, your Elderberry’s branches will be graced by 5-8 inch, flat clusters of scented, white flowers which later develop into black berries. Those berries are delicious in wines, preserves or other culinary dishes. The Elderberry also has a long history of medicinal uses. One of the best features of your Variegated Elderberry is that it’s a veritable magnet for wildlife. Butterflies and other pollinators love it spring through summer, and birds (and other wildlife), will flock to it in the fall for the tasty berries. Cotoneaster - Tom Thumb Creeping - DetailsCotoneaster - Tom Thumb Creeping - Sale Price: $64.25
The Tom Thumb Creeping Cotoneaster, Cotoneaster adpressus 'Tom Thumb', is an interesting, very dwarf, very dense and compact ground cover-type shrub. It has a unique appeal because of its very shiny, small leaves that turn a brilliant red-crimson in the autumn. 'Tom Thumb' rarely produces flowers and fruit, but when it occurs the blooms are small, pinkish-white. Then the very small, ¼, red fruits follow. This cotoneaster spreads by rooting in where the branches touch the soil. Its branches are opposite along the stem so creates a herringbone effect or pattern. 'Tom Thumb' is a true dwarf, not only in that it remains very close to the ground, but even the leaves are tinier than the species. This low-maintenance miniature woody shrub prefers dry soil (within reason) and full sun, though it will do well enough in partial shade. It is a very charming plant and it is deer resistant. Zones 4-7. * Dense * Low-Growing * Low Maintenance

This graceful shrub exhibits an enduring cold hardiness and prefers rich, moist soil and blooms best in full sun, but can also tolerate partial shade.

Swamp Chestnut Oak - DetailsSwamp Chestnut Oak - Sale Price: $71.35
The Swamp Chestnut Oak tree, Quercus michauxii, is known also as a Basket Oak for the baskets made from its wood, and Cow Oak because cows eat the acorns! One of the important timber trees of the South, it grows on moist and wet loamy soils of bottom lands, along streams and borders of swamps.  The high quality wood is used in all kinds of construction and for implements.  The acorns are sweet and serve as food for wildlife. Swamp Chestnut Oak trees are well-formed and become quite large (80 feet tall) with a narrow crown.  Swamp Chestnut Oak strongly prefers soils that are moist, permanently moist, or permanently wet, and tolerates standing water (as in periodically inundated floodplains) for several weeks at a time. Good seed crops occur at intervals of 3-5 years with poor to fair production in between.  Swamp Chestnut Oak trees are deciduous and have leaves that vary from four to eight inches in length and are downy beneath. Making a good shade tree, Swamp Chestnut Oak also offers rich crimson colors in the fall! * Important timber tree * Produces acorns * Good shade tree
