Phlox - Creeping Blue The Phlox 'Creeping Blue', Phlox subulata 'Blue', makes a carpet of color and evergreen foliage and provides year round beauty and cover. 'Creeping Blue' plants are covered with a mass of blue flowers during April and May. This carefree wonder quickly blankets even tough problem areas with dense green foliage and thousands of colorful blooms. Plant 8-12 apart in any moist soil and in full sun to partial shade. A feeding of compost in the spring is all this plant requires in the way of food. Prune after flowering or late summer to create a healthier plant and to promote denser growth. 'Creeping Blue' is a good plant to use with your spring flowering bulbs such as Tulips and Daffodils. It is often used as a ground cover, an edging plant or for planting in cracks and walls. It is also good for naturalizing an area. | Ajuga - Burgundy Glow - Sale Price: $42.75 The Ajuga ‘Burgundy Glow’, Ajuga reptans, is a useful ground cover with short spikes of blue flowers. This Ajuga is one of the most popular, forming striking mounds of leaves dappled in green, pink and cream. During the wintertime, Ajuga ‘Burgundy Glow’ develops rich bronze and burgundy tones. The flowers appear in late spring on 6” spikes with a plant spread of 12-18”. ‘Burgundy Glow’ should be planted 6-9” apart for a beautiful ground cover. Ajuga ‘Burgundy Glow’ will do best in a shaded area but will adapt to morning sun. (The foliage colors will be more vivid with morning sun.) It prefers moist soil with a good drainage but will tolerate moderately dry areas. Do avoid soggy conditions.
