It is a good substitute for boxwood because of its small dark green leaves. 'Heller's' can be used as an accent plant, in mass plantings, as a landscape specimen, and in rock gardens. This plant is used in the landscape in front of taller shrubs for a contrast in your landscape scene. It is best that it has a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system.
