The Shrub Rose, Midnight Blue™ PP16623, ' Rosa sp. 'WEKfabpur', produces a black-velvet purple rose with a spicy clove fragrance. The blooms tend to a deeper purple and a little larger in cooler temperatures. The Midnight Blue is a compact rounded plant that is great for smaller spaces. This plant is very disease resistant. It likes moist soils but not standing water! The flower clusters are large and full of blooms and it repeats flowers all season long. Use this plant for mass plantings and mixed borders. This is a low-maintenance colorful choice for sunny areas. This plant can also be used for beds and borders, container rose, cut flower and in the garden. Remove spent blooms to encourage re-bloom. Midnight Blue is a mounding type plant. It will be as wide as it is tall. The foliage is dense and it generally dense right to the ground.
