Clematis - Prince Charles - Sale Price: $42.75 Clematis Prince Charles, Clematis 'Prince Charles', has incredible flower power! The compact plants bloom profusely for a long time from July through September.  The 4 mauve-blue semi-nodding flowers are deeply ribbed with a slight twisting habit; contrasting yellow anthers. Ideal for a container plant, it is called the poor man's 'Perle d'Azur' because it is a similar blue, but more compact.  It is much more manageable than some of the sprawling varieties. Clematis 'Prince Charles' needs a supporting structure to grow properly but will also grow over large shrubs, over walls, cover stumps, and make perfect cover ups for unsightly service areas. Clematis is easy to grow in a rich, porous, alkaline soil with plenty of room for the roots to spread.
