The evergreen leaves are a deep lustrous green and glisten in sunlight. It is excellent for foundation, hedges, masses, and as an accent plant. It is best to follow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system. Feed with a general purpose fertilizer before new growth begins in spring. For a tidy, neat appearance, shear annually to shape. 'Nordic Compact' is well suited to low hedges, but single specimens can also be sheared for topiary-like precision form. Dogwood - Grey Twig - Sale Price: $57.05 The Gray Dogwood, 'Cornus racemosa', is a deciduous shrub which typically occurs in moist or rocky ground along streams, ponds, wet meadows, glade and prairie margins, thickets and rocky bluffs. It grows 10-15' tall and features white flowers borne in terminal racemes (hence the species name of racemosa) in late spring and grayish-green, elliptic to lance-shaped leaves (2-4 long). The foliage turns an interesting dusky purplish red in fall. The red stem color is more easily seen after the fruits are gone, and red color often persists into early winter. Rhododendron - Korean - Sale Price: $106.95 Rhododendron - Korean, Rhododendron mucronulatum, is a shrub that is native to northern China, Korea, and Japan and develops an upright, rounded or oval habit. In mid spring, Korean Rhododendron produces stunning rosy purple flowers that are showy and widely funnel-shaped. This plant comes into bloom during the first warm spring weather, and the flowers open successively from clusters of buds at the end of the shoots before the leaves expand. The leaves are deciduous (shed in autumn), but they turn yellow and bronze before falling. This rhododendron requires partial to full shade and moist, well-drained soil; does best in acidic soil.
