Rhododendron - Nova Zembla - Sale Price: $51.35 The Rhododendron Nova Zembla, 'Rhododendron 'Nova Zembla', is a dense-growing, small evergreen shrub that displays large trusses of flowers. The red flowers will appear in mid spring. The Nova Zembla is very effective as an accent plant. The dense foliage makes a good foundation plant or hedge. They are ideal for lining a partially shaded driveway or separating a walkway in the front yard. For best results, feed with an acid fertilizer after bloom and keep the roots cool with a thick layer of mulch. Keep the soil pH between 4.5 and 5.5 for best results. Forsythia - Gold Tideâ„¢ - Sale Price: $29.95 Gold Tide™ Forsythia, Forsythia 'Courtasol' (PP9,104) is a compact shrub that has an abundance of bright lemon-yellow flowers blooming in early spring, creating quite the color show when mass planted. When in zone 4, this plant needs adequate snow cover for a consistent spring bloom. You need to prune immediately after spring flowering. Gold Tide is easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soils, in full sun to part shade, but the best flower production is in full sun. With its compact-spreading shape, it typically grows to only 20” tall but spreading to as much as 4’ wide. Group them in borders, foundations or on banks or slopes. It is a semi-evergreen to deciduous fast growing shrub. 'Regel' has an upright oval, to radiating rounded growth habit in youth, maturing to an arching vase growth habit with age. It can be pruned to create a formal hedge. 'Regel' Privet prefers moist, well-drained soils in full sun in humid southern environments, but is one of the better deciduous hedges for northern climates.
