Cedar - Fastigiata - Sale Price: $56.95 The Cedar Fastigiata, Cedrus atlantica 'Fastigiata', is an upright formed evergreen conifer with blue-green needles.  It is a narrow, columnar selection with a mature width of only 10'.  With this interesting and picturesque habit, it works well as a specimen or lawn tree.  In optimum conditions, this pyramidal tree can reach up to 40’ tall and 10' wide.  Placed in a good site, this can tree can grow up to 2 feet a year! This cedar prefers moist, deep soils, but is tolerant of dry, sandy soils and does best in full sun.  Fastigiata is tolerant of pollution and urban conditions so makes a great tree for city parks. It may get considerable needle burn and injury during cold winters or when sited poorly in windy locations.  Severely winter burned trees generally recover well if established. Nuttall Oak - Sale Price: $85.65 The Nuttall Oak tree, Quercus nuttallii, was not distinguished as a species until 1927. It is also called red oak, Red River oak, and pin oak. It is one of the few commercially important species found on poorly drained clay flats and low bottoms of the Gulf Coastal Plain and north in the Mississippi and Red River Valleys. The acorn or winter buds identify Nuttall oak, easily confused with pin oak (Q. palustris). The lumber is often cut and sold as red oak. In addition to producing timber, Nuttall oak is an important species for wildlife management because of heavy annual mast production. Nuttall Oak trees are a good choice for low poorly drained locations. During winter, squirrels find a ready supply of acorns, since many acorns remain on the tree into January. Acorns are favored by deer and also eaten by turkeys.

Native American Plum - Sale Price: $57.05 The Native American Plum tree, ‘Prunus americana’, is also known as the Native Plum, Hedge Plum, Sloe or Wild Plum. Native American Plum trees are small, deciduous, single trunk trees or a multi-stemmed shrub which occurs in rocky or sandy soils in woodlands, pastures, abandoned farms, streams and hedgerows. This deciduous tree typically grows to 15-25' tall with a broad, spreading crown. As a shrub, it suckers freely and can form large colonies. The 2 to 5 inch white flowers appear in early spring before the foliage appears. Flowers are followed by edible, round, red plums with bright yellow pulp which ripen in early summer. This species is usually grown for ornamental value and not for fruit production, however. Although the plums can be eaten raw, the quality is somewhat poor. The fruits are perhaps better used for preserves and jellies. The leaves turn yellow to red in autumn for great fall color. Branches and twigs are an attractive dark reddish-brown.
