Summersweet - Hummingbird - Sale Price: $64.25 Summersweet - Hummingbird, Clethra alnifolia 'Hummingbird', is a medium-sized ornamental shrub forming tight colonies with age.  It has a spreading mound growth habit with a slow growth rate.  Due to its compact habit, it is well suited for small gardens. Hummingbird Summersweet is a dwarf cultivar which has a more compact and spreading growth form than the species.  This cultivar will have twice as many flowers than the species, and will grow 3' by 3'. The flowers are borne on bottlebrush-like inflorescences from mid to late summer.  With its profusion of fragrant and beautiful white to light pink spikes, Hummingbird Summersweet will attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds into the garden.
