The large 6 purple flowers appear in late July above slender but strong scapes. ‘Super Honor’ flowers open flat to reveal a large lemon-lime throat surrounded by a darker purple band on the petals; petals also display darker purple veining. Flame Grass is easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. It is tolerant of a wide range of soils from well-drained sandy soils to the heavy clay.
