Yew - Densiformis
The Dens Yew, or Yew Densiformis, 'Taxus x media 'Densiformis', is one of the most popular evergreen shrubs today. This very popular yew is a rapid grower with a spreading habit and fluffy bright deep green needles. The new growth emerges as a brighter green and eventually matures to deep green. With a plant height of 4’ and a width of 6’, the dark green foliage adds color to every garden; foliage will turn a nice red to burgundy color in the fall. It is best to plant in full shade in a moist area because it is intolerant of poor drainage; can be damaged if exposed to excessive winter sun and wind. Not only is it a low maintenance shrub, but Densidormis is tolerant to deer, pollution, rabbits and seashore breezes.  Dens Yew is an amazing evergreen that should not to be left out of any landscape!

Holly - Compact Japanese - DetailsHolly - Compact Japanese - Sale Price: $106.95
The Compact Japanese Holly, Ilex crenata 'Compacta', is a well-branched, somewhat oval-shaped, and compact shrub to 4 feet high and wide. It does well in neutral to acid soil. Plant this holly in mass groups as low shrubs, low hedges, or tall groundcovers. The compact habit of growth and small leaves make these ideal plants for use as clipped, formal hedges. Japanese Holly develops without clipping making it well suited for planting along a foundation. Plant 3 to 4 feet apart to form a hedge, plant farther apart if used in a shrub border. It shears fairly well, but will thin slightly toward the base, especially if not located in full sun. This compact holly can be sheared into various shapes. This plant is an evergreen and it is deer resistant! If you are using this plant as a hedge, clip the hedge so it is wider at the bottom. This will allow light to the bottom leaves and branches and will help keep the hedge full to the ground. Zones 6-9.

Barberry - Concorde - DetailsBarberry - Concorde - Sale Price: $32.95
Commonly known as Japanese Barberry, this compact little shrub’s burgundy-colored foliage is a dramatic —and welcome— contrast in a landscape dominated by green everything-else. ‘Concorde’ has very small teardrop-shaped leaves on thorny branches which form an orderly round plant that tops out at not much more than a couple of feet. Use ‘Concorde’ as a foundation planting or berm or border edging, and in any number of other small, sunny spaces where you need a plant of a different color. Full sun keeps the leaves their pretty royal purple color, which will gently turn deep red in the fall, and through the winter you’ll be treated to lovely red berries. A slightly acidic soil will benefit this slow-growing, pest-free shrub (which is also hypo-allergenic and resistant to deer, drought and disease). To tilt the pH, just tap a few nails into the soil under the shrub canopy. Pruning is only required to change its shape or overall size. Zones 4-8. There is always space for Concorde in any landscape, and it will look terrific in yours as well. Plant in full sun.
