Linden - Glenleven - Sale Price: $107.05 The Glenleven Linden, Tilia flavescens 'Glenleven', is a hybrid between American and Little Leaf Linden. It is a fast growing tree with an extremely straight trunk and a pyramidal form (cone shaped). Glenleven's green foliage turns yellow in the fall. This tree has a faster growth rate than other Little Leaf Lindens with a more open canopy that casts a moderate shade. Glenleven is a prolific bloomer, with its small fragrant flowers appearing in late June and into July. Many bees are attracted to the flowers, and the dried flowers persist on the tree for some time. Lindens are pH adaptable and pollution tolerant but prefer well drained soil. The leaves are heart shaped and dark green. Lindens generally are very hardy trees, once established, and maintain their pyramidal shape easily without trimming. Box Elder Maple - Sale Price: $99.95 The Box Elder Maple tree, Acer negundo, is also commonly known as Ashleaf maple, Manitoba maple, Box-elder maple, and Western box-elder.  This deciduous maple tree is a small-to-medium-sized tree, reaching heights of 50 to 75 feet, with a trunk diameter up to 4 feet.  The trunk is relatively short and tapering, and the crown is spreading and bushy.  It is more often seen as a smaller tree with cane-like, bright green branches. Box Elder trees are fast growing and tolerate poor conditions. Although it grows best on moist soils, box-elder is drought and cold resistant.  It can also tolerate flooding for extended periods (up to a month). The bark is smooth on young trees and then as it gets older the bark develops narrow ridges; mature trees have dark brown bark.  These shade trees have brittle wood.  Boxelder bugs eat seeds on female trees.  The seeds are also a source of food for birds and mammals, and are important because they stay on the tree through winter, when other food resources are scarce! * Fast growing * Tolerates flooding * Food for wildlife

Nuttall Oak - Sale Price: $85.65 The Nuttall Oak tree, Quercus nuttallii, was not distinguished as a species until 1927. It is also called red oak, Red River oak, and pin oak. It is one of the few commercially important species found on poorly drained clay flats and low bottoms of the Gulf Coastal Plain and north in the Mississippi and Red River Valleys. The acorn or winter buds identify Nuttall oak, easily confused with pin oak (Q. palustris). The lumber is often cut and sold as red oak. In addition to producing timber, Nuttall oak is an important species for wildlife management because of heavy annual mast production. Nuttall Oak trees are a good choice for low poorly drained locations. During winter, squirrels find a ready supply of acorns, since many acorns remain on the tree into January. Acorns are favored by deer and also eaten by turkeys.
