European Bird Cherry is generally described as a perennial tree or shrub and has dark-green summer foliage that turns yellow to red in fall. The white flowers are large and fragrant and appear in early May. They are borne in slender drooping clusters. It differs from other wild and garden cherries in having flowers in long cylindrical spikes. The fruit is black, about 1/3” or less, and taken by the birds. This low-branched tree is rounded to about 15-20’. May Day Tree is available in clump form. The European Bird Cherry has a moderate life span relative to most other plant species and a moderate growth rate. Dwarf Alberta Spruce - Sale Price: $39.95 The Dwarf Alberta Spruce, Picea glauca 'Conica', is a miniature Spruce with bright green foliage that is densely branched, slow growing tree that retains a perfect conical shape without trimming. The Dwarf Alberta Spruce is a small, cone- shaped tree that grows very slowly (2 to 4 inches per year) and rarely needs pruning. Its dense, bright green foliage makes it attractive. It is primarily a specimen plant and is often used as a container plant. It does need protection from the winter sun in exposed sites in zone 4. If planted farther south, summer heat and humidity are not to its liking, so try to locate it where it gets some afternoon shade but otherwise good light. The north or east side of the house is probably the best location. Make sure it's planted in a fertile, well-drained soil that is not allowed to get too dry during the summer. This is an excellent plant for adding structure, color and texture to your yard or garden. And if you have a small area, try this one in containers for that special place in your garden or patio.

The spreading branches of a young tree form a pyramidal outline, but at maturity, it sometimes achieves a picturesque flat topped head. This fast growing pine tree makes an attractive Christmas tree when sheared. It will tolerate limestone or acidic soils, dry rocky locations and windy conditions. Austrian pines are good for thick screens or windbreaks. For screen, space 6 feet apart. When placed in a good site it should reach 5 ft. in height in 6-7 years starting with a 2 year old seedling.
