Blackberry - Darrow - Sale Price: $42.75 If you’ve ever picked and eaten wild blackberries, you know there’s nothing like their intense, deep, true blackberry flavor and aroma. The problem with wild blackberries is that they’re susceptible to rust and blight, and the fruits are often tiny, not to mention that you have to go find them. Start an easy-to-grow berry patch of your own with several ‘Darrow’ plants, and every summer (and often again in early fall) you’ll harvest huge, delectable berries with that same wild-picked taste, but minus the problems. This blackberry is hardy to zone 5, is ultra-vigorous and also self-pollinating. Choose a sunny, well-drained spot for your patch and amend the soil with compost. Hydrangea - Little Lamb - Sale Price: $39.95 The Hydrangea Little Lamb, 'Hydrangea paniculata 'Little Lamb', a Proven Winners selection, produces some of the most delicate flowers ever seen on a Hydrangea paniculata. Little Lamb's flowers are like those of the Pee Gee but much smaller. The white flowers look like little lambs dancing above the green foliage. Little Lamb prefers moist, well-drained soil and the flower color is not affected by soil PH. This plant blooms in mid to late summer. Little Lamb is a very winter hardy plant that thrives in urban conditions. Because bloom occurs on the current season’s growth, do any pruning in late winter or early spring. Barberry - Crimson Pygmy - Sale Price: $39.95 Like ‘Concorde,’ Crimson Pygmy is naturally small in stature, just about two feet tall and perhaps three feet wide. It has all of the characteristics you love in a landscape shrub: resistance to disease, deer and insects, and perhaps best of all, considering it’s a prickly plant, no pruning, unless you want to treat it as a topiary or downsize it. Excellent in the landscape border, in Japanese-themed gardens or as a frame for water features. Plant Crimson Pygmy against golds, yellows and deep greens for stark contrast, or as a companion to anything in the pink/rose spectrum for sheer beauty. Full sun, regular watering and soil that’s a bit on the acid side will serve this shrub well. After its root system is large and well established, it will only need watering during periods of drought. Zones 4-8.

Spiraea - Van Houtteis - Sale Price: $57.05 The Spiraea Van Houtteis (bridalwreath), Spiraea vanhouttei, has a foliage color of a dull bluish green.  The flowers are white in April-May, borne in many flowered 1-2 diameter umbels.  The lovely white flowers form on the branch tips, and they are produced before the fine textured leaves!  Van Houtteis is an outstanding deciduous shrub that grows rapidly and may be used as a screen, in groupings, for borders, or as a foundation plant. The branches arch to the ground and makes an open airy mounded habit that adds an architectural feature to the landscape. Van Houtte Spirea is a durable and familiar shrub that is best grown in a sunny location and any good garden soil; prefers well-drained soil.

Inkberry - Shamrock - Sale Price: $64.25 Compact Shrub - Ideal as Low Accent or Hedge  The Compact Inkberry 'Shamrock', Ilex glabra 'Shamrock,' is a handsome compact form of the native Inkberry with lustrous dark green leaves. It is slow growing, reaching 3 to 4 feet tall and wide. 'Shamrock' tolerates wet sites. 'Shamrock' is a very nice compact inkberry that has new growth being a much brighter, glistening green, then maturing to the lustrous dark green color. It holds its leaves on the lower branches better than most Inkberry. With maturity, it produces large amounts of dark purple to black colored berries; production really increases after the third year of growth. This Inkberry plant is very useful as accent plantings, as well as for a maintained low growing hedge. Plant in fairly moist, acidic soil that is well drained; mulching recommended.
