Dianthus - Raspberry Swirl - Sale Price: $49.95 The Dianthus 'Raspberry Swirl', Dianthus 'Devon Siskin', (sometimes called Siskin Clocks) is a mesmerizing plant! 'Devon Siskin' has dense mounds of grey green, evergreen foliage that grows to 7 inches tall with a spread of 12 inches. Producing bright pink flowers with deep burgundy edging and central disks, these blooms drown the foliage in late spring to early summer. As they age, the petals fade to white and the picotee edges changes to magenta.  If they are deadheaded, they will bloom again in the fall! Dianthus grow best in sunny areas and prefers limited moisture and prefers a cool climate, full sun, and rich, well drained soil; very easy to grow. This plant is tolerant of short periods of dryness too. Water 'Devon Siskin' during dry periods, once or twice per week. Add a general purpose fertilizer once a month.  After the flowers have died, cut the stems to ground level. Warm-season grasses need warm soil to begin their growth, so Burgundy Bunny won't start growing until mid to late spring or even early summer. This miniature fountain grass will turn shades of brown as the weather turns colder. Once this happens, and you live in an area where this grass will survive the winter, trim back to a few inches tall. You can leave the dried grasses and seed heads in your garden for winter interest; covered with snow, this ornamental grass can be quite striking. Peony - Karl Rosenfield - Sale Price: $71.35 The Peony 'Karl Rosenfield', 'Paeonia', a fall planted bulb, produces magnificent bright red flowers that are stunning in the garden and superb for cut flowers. During late spring-early summer, they fill the garden with fragrance. They also produce superb, long lasting cut flowers. They will bloom 3 to 4 weeks in late spring. The Peony tolerates some drought but thrives in moist, fertile, well-draining soil. If your soil is extremely acid, add some lime at planting time. Plant the roots with the eyes (buds) pointing up and place them 1 below the soil level. Peonies usually take a few years to establish and bloom heavily. For a tidy appearance, remove spent flowers after blooming. After a heavy frost, cut the foliage to the ground and remove from the area. Peonies do not need to be divided and can be left in place for years! Staking is recommended. Peonies attract butterflies and are great cut flowers and borders.
