Clematis - Empress
Clematis Empress, Clematis 'Empress™', is a charming clematis that will impress with a profusion of radiant pink blooms that have a frilly pompon top! Clematis 'Empress' produces large double flowers that have pink petals with darker pink center bars.  The inner petals sprout spiky pink hair and the plant blooms from May through June and into fall in most climates. 'Empress™ is a spectacular compact, free-flowering plant that displays well in containers or small gardens. Clematis 'Empress™' needs a supporting structure to grow properly but will also grow over large shrubs, over walls, cover stumps, and make perfect cover ups for unsightly service areas. Clematis is easy to grow in a rich, porous, alkaline soil with plenty of room for the roots to spread. Best performance is when the tops are in full sunlight and the roots are shaded, so apply generous mulch or a shallow-rooted ground cover near the base of the vine. Groom this plant after first flowering by cutting back the top one-third to one-half of some stems. Clematis 'Empress™' is a very reliable performer once established; it takes a season or two to get going! * Container clematis * Large double flowers * Long blooming

The flower heads are 4” wide, with a spread of 18-24” and a height of 24”. ‘Moonshine’ Yarrow is a great addition to a sunny perennial border, planted in pots or combined with ornamental grasses. ‘Moonshine’ can tolerate poor soil conditions, but does best in lean, dry to medium wet, well-drained soil. (Avoid heavy clays and moist, rich, fertile soils.) Yarrow should be planted in full sun and is tolerant to hot humid summers. Use this plant in borders, as cut and dried flowers, and in containers. Remove faded flowers to encourage more growth and divide every 3-4 years. Hosta - Pineapple Punch - DetailsHosta - Pineapple Punch - Sale Price: $42.75
The Hosta Pineapple Punch, Hosta 'Pineapple Punch', has narrow, rippling, extremely ruffled, lance-shaped leaves that start off creamy yellow, and then turn white.  A lovely sport of Pineapple Upsidedown Cake, Pineapple Punch is medium sized with an arching mound. It displays light lavender blossoms on tall flower scapes in late summer.   Since 'Pineapple Punch' is an excellent grower, spreading from underground rhizomes, it makes an outstanding border plant or groundcover! Hostas grow best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5.  Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots.  It is best to keep areas around hostas clear of excess leaf debris to reduce the presence of slugs and snails.  Plant 'Pineapple Punch' in an area that receives the right amount of light.  The leaves need some morning sun to bring out the best coloration; too much sun will burn the leaves.  It is most at home in shady, woodland settings and often works well as specimen or edging plants. For a fantastic look in a shaded area, plant 'Pineapple Punch' in mass plantings for an eye catching ground cover! * Arching mound * Medium sized plant * Underground rhizomes

Coneflower - Magnus - DetailsConeflower - Magnus - Sale Price: $49.95
The Echinacea ‘Magnus’ Coneflower, Echinacea purpurea, also known as Purple Coneflower, Hedge coneflower, and Black Sampson, is an easy to grow flower. It produces beautiful deep purple daisy-like flowers that are a bit larger than the rest of its family.  It was Perennial Plant of the Year in 1998, one can see why! ‘Magnus’ blooms from July to October and is a major attractor to butterflies and bees; deer resistant.  It is a must for any perennial garden.  With its dark green foliage, Echinacea ‘Magnus’ stands 3’ high with a plant spread of 18-24”. For best results, plant in full sun in a well drained area.  The sturdy stems carry the blossoms from midsummer to fall.  The coneflower is known for its large flower heads that turn to seed in the fall.  It is a great choice for cut flowers, and it adds a wilderness look to your garden. ‘Magnus’ usually reblooms without deadheading, but if spent flowers are removed, this procedure will encourage continued beautiful blooms and improves general appearance. This coneflower keeps coming all summer on tall plants with excellent branching.  If you leave some spent blooms on the plants in fall their seeds provide winter food for birds.  You can enjoy the dried seed heads as well, because they will provide architectural interest in the winter. ‘Magnus’ will give you weeks of dependable color, and it provides a striking display with its dark foliage and deep purple flowers! * Dark foliage * Long blooming * Easy to grow
